CLUTCH advise PLEASE HELP!

I need to get a new clutch,

can anyone recommend from personal use which one to buy??


I have spoken to Alyn and I know which clutch I am steering towards.


Is also necessary to renew the fly wheel?


I would be grateful of any input.

Don't think you need to replace fly wheel mate unless it's shabberd... Aparently you can have them ground down.... As they crack from alot of heat... Wouldn't be a bad idea to put lightend one in if your uprating clutch and thinking of more power in thd future every little helps

adverts for clutch kits usualy recomend changing the flywheel to prevent premature wear of the clutch.
i would guess if your flywheel is in good condition, then you dont need to replace it but if it's scored or at all uneven, then needs to be changed or skimmed
the problem is you need to get the clutch off to see, and then if you find need a flywheel, you gotta wait for it to be delivered before you get your car back on the road. if you can do without the car for a bit, go down that route I guess.

Not thinking about up rating anything,

I just want a replacement clutch that can take "normal" day to day driving.

Have a 6 speed flyweel in the gargae if you want one skimmed and ready to go in
stage one exceedy or a ACT for a clutch

Not sure if its the original, it depends if they replaced the flywheel the last time the clutch was done about 18k ago I think, I will have to find the paper work.

I will let you no know ASAP after Ive spooken to my mechanic, which wont be untill Monday morning.

The exeedy clutch is that the "Pink Box " one?

Exedy std will be fine on a std car - otherwise go for the pink box. Personally I like the AP I have now but it's not needed at the std power. I'd count on getting the fly skimmed as it's peanuts and could make the clutch last much longer - Especially useful if you can get a spare Fly skimmed in advance - otherwise getting yours done shouldn't be an issue and can normally be sorted on the day.

18k on a clutch? What you doing with it? Drag racing?

My first clutch lasted only 8,000ml. 7,000rpm then dumping the clutch launches will do that. Then had a rebuild done with a new clutch and that was a standard one which slipped under Heavy load and lasted only 12,000mls now I'm on an exedy organic and it's got a good bite and is still nice and light under foot for day to day driving.

I had exedy organic with 6KG flywheel on the classic, spot on .
Have just had same fitted to P1

But we all know Ian likes to give it some stick now and then. I'm pretty sure my scoob is on its original clutch (done 84k) so i must be driving like an old woman
