Default Wiring / Pin out

Hi,
Hope someone can help / point me in the right direction.

My McRae (V3?) gearbox loom was disconnected by the previous owner from the manifold by taking out all the pins from the multiplug.

My mechanic has now put an engine in and put the pins back where he thought they would logically go (colours dont match gearbox side / manifold side) but he thinks there is a problem because 1) rev counters sits on 2500 rpm at ide 2) it hardly moves when you rev the engine 3) engine light is on.

I have asked various places (facebook ) whether anyone had a gearbox loom I could buy (Electronic speedo) or a wiring diagram for the gearbox loom plug to manifold.

Would appreciate if anyone can help

Cheers

Ray

Thanks for that.

I found the loom but not the actual pins and locations. But then I'm not overly technical with looking through pdf's

I'll keep going

How many sensors are there on the box. I would have a guess it's about 3.
Vehicle Speed Sensor 2
Neutral Position Switch
Reverse Selection Sensor

So you could work out whats what selecting reverse and checking which one makes/breaks contact, the same for the Neutral and then logically that just leaves the speed sensor.

That identifies the sensors, then just buzz the ECU side of the loom through in accordance with the below ECU pin out, although Referse switch will go to light circuit not ECU.

I am lost, your speedo is mechanical input other than the NPS an RS switch what can you see?

None of the above will cause the running issue you have, you can leave all the above unplugged and it will run fine. The three main engine wiring loom plugs, you’re not confusing these are you?

You mentioned plug to manifold, do you have a photo ?

This is the manifold end. The plug from the box plugs into this plug.

Its the gearbox side that all the pins were removed and need aligning with this wiring.
