Default Great add for a spot on P1

Subaru Impreza P1 WR 0002/1000

For sale is my Subaru Impreza P1 WR Edition (I know, I know, there's no official 'WR' however WR was the aftermarket tag given to P1's which had all the optional extras).
These extras included:
- Prodrive Alcon big brake upgrade (330mm oh yeah)
- P1 stamped backbox (because there are not enough Prodrive/P1 logos on the car already)
- Electric Recaro seats
- 18" alloys (17" was standard)
- Prodrive mats including boot mat (I'm not sure if this was part of the WR thing but this car has them anyway)

This P1 is 0002 out of the 1000 that were made and was one of the Prodrive demo cars (vroom vroom).

At the time when Prodrive owned it, it had the plate 'P1 PVP' which you'll see on the HPI report. P1 PVP was a badass number plate, so badass in fact that Prodrive decided to keep it. They, in their infinite wisdom decided that it was too dangerous to let out and so it has been sitting in a shed somewhere ever since (along with the P2, bravo Prodrive).

The car has been on its original W-reg plate ever since.

I've owned this car since March 2011 and the car has covered around 96,300 miles (I say 'around' as I drive it daily so it's slowly creeping up). Although there is no paperwork which shows an engine rebuild, Mike Wood (dude from Prodrive) has stated that the car's engine was rebuilt when it was owned by Prodrive, by Prodrive's senior engineer because someone had put too much oil in it.

The car was dyno'd in 2006 and shows 307 bhp. Mechanically, the only mods the car has is an aftermarket heatwrapped decatted downpipe (which the previous owner states is a Group A TSL downpipe) and a remap. Cosmetically, the alloys are have been changed from anthracite to black by a previous owner (these really look awesome) and the car also has mudflaps which I fitted myself.

In June, I started hearing a squeaking noise when turning the steering wheel. Initially I thought that this was a family of rats that had no doubt been scooped up by the front splitter but later realised that this was not the case. I took the car down to FB Tuning where it was diagnosed that the power steering belt was dying of old age. The belt was not replaced that day due to the unavailability of a new one but the belt was tightened which fixed the problem. It was decided that the belt would be changed when the car was booked in for a service as it was wearing out.

Come July I saw a group buy on Scoobynet for some Scoobyworld mudflaps. I asked for white STI stickers for the flaps, Scoobyworld nodded, agreed, and then sent me pink ones. I kept the pink ones as I was in a hurry to fit the flaps and to be honest, they look good.

I then had the car serviced on 21/10/2011 at 93,711 miles where the aforementioned power steering belt was replaced with a new one. This service was pretty awesome, as it included not only the regular oil change, but also new gearbox oil, coolant and spark plugs. A K&N panel air filter was installed (and in case you don't know, the new air filter means that you never have to change the air filter again, it also comes with a lifetime warantee). The radiator, upon seeing all this awesome stuff being put in, wet itself. It was then changed for a second hand one.

At the time of the service I was told that the front brake discs had cracked up (literally) at that last joke and were now on the verge of dying, and also that the rear shocks were so shocked, and that they had died.

More details of the stuff used when the car was serviced:
Millers Oils CFS 10w-50 Competition Synthetic Engine Oil
Millers Oils CRX LS 75w-90 NT Competition full synthetic transmission oil
Motul INUGEL EXPERT coolant
NGK PFR7B Spark Plugs
K&N High Flow Replacement Air Filter
This all (parts, labour) cost me nearly £500

The front discs were replaced with Godspeed's 2-piece Alcon replacements (330 mm) and Ferodo DS2500 Pads. The items alone cost £650.

At the end of December, on a windy day, the passenger side roof trim flew off while I was driving. As far as I know, no one was hurt however I like to think that the trim caused an Evo's AYC pump somewhere, to fail. I bought a brand new roof trim and clips from Subaru and fitted it in early January.

At the same time, I managed to get hold of a full set of used P1 shocks from a member of the P1WOC, and subsequently the rears were changed at FB Tuning on 23/01/2011. The fronts were upset about this as they had quite the history with these rears and so the fronts were also changed. The old shocks now live happily in a dumpster somewhere.

ADDITION (1/2/2011): During the suspension fitting, it was noticed that exhaust gas was blowing from the inlet pipe area, it's a minor issue and will be fixed within the next few days at FB Tuning.

At some point during my ownership, one of the front headlights stopped working. All four were changed for lights which are a lot brighter than the original disgusting yellow ones.

There are a few bad points which need to be mentioned:
- The front bumper, splitter and front bonnet area have a few stone chips on them, a respray is most likely required for the splitter and bumper if you want it back to pristine condition.
- There is also a 2-3 inch scratch on the bonnet which was treated with touch up paint by the previous owner.
- There are two tiny dings on the passenger side door, these can't be seen unless you're looking at them from a certain angle and the lighting is also right.
- There is a bit of rust on the driver's side rear wheel arch.
- The same wheel also has a bit of curbing where I failed while parking outside my house.
- One of the driving lights (not headlight, the HID style driving lamp) does not work properly; it turns on but then turns off. I haven't had this checked out as I never use them anyway but I'm guessing that it's a connection issue.

Car has full service history, and is MOT and taxed until early March 2012. Car will be supplied with the original cat exhaust, and the original steering wheel (I forgot to mention that it has an aftermarket momo steering wheel). Car comes with three set of keys, and two fobs. Tyres are Federal Super Steels with good tread all around (they were brand new in March 2011).

I'm selling this car because I drive it every day with 90% of that driving being on the motorway. I didn't mind this when I bought it because I've always wanted a P1 however now that the commute has become familiar and boring (thank you average speed cameras) it's time to sell for an A to B economic machine.

The car is always warmed up and cooled down properly - no it's not turned on when cold then allowed to idle for 5 minutes before driving. It's turned on, then driven slowly at low revs until its warm enough before being allowed to hit the mid range revs. The motorway is a couple of miles from my house so that journey there is long enough to allow the car to warm up sufficiently before hitting the motorway. If I feel the car isn't warm enough, I'll sit at 60 in the inside lane until it feels better.

When turning the car off, it's driven again at low revs for around a mile, before being parked up, given a 30-second idle and then turned off.

Weather permitting, I've washed this car every week and waxed it every other week.

I've made sure that the parts used on this car are the best and the work carried out by a Subaru specialist.

The car sounds awesome, it's not ridiculously loud but it puts a smile on your face when you turn it on. At low revs it's not too loud but give it some and hear the roar. There are no knocks or bangs and apart from the exhaust gas blowing issue mentioned above, the car is running perfectly. The car has started first time for me without any issues at all and is HPI clear.

I've misplaced the receipts for the brake installation and the lights (misplaced, not lost). I'll look for them and update this advert with dates. Other than that, I have paperwork for everything I've had done to this car since my ownership. I even have every single fuel receipt! Unfortunately the previous owners haven't been so great with the paperwork.

Talking about fuel, the previous owner tells me that he only ever used Shell Optimax and V-Power. During my ownership, apart from £10 worth of Tesco Momentum 99, the car has only ever seen V-Power.

As a P1 owner you also benefit from the P1WOC, and believe me the P1 has one of the best owners clubs out there which is full of friendly and helpful people. They all own the same car and so any advice needed is specialised just for the P1.

I've tried to mention everything that I can about the car; however it's possible that I may have forgotten something. I will update this advert if I remember anything.

This is a seriously quick car, which looks amazing. I advise you check your insurance before thinking of buying. I will only accept cash on collection. No test drives as I don't know you and I care about this car too much to let a stranger in the driver's seat (sorry), I'm happy to let you sit in the passenger seat with me driving if you're serious about buying.

Car can be seen in Slough or the West London area by appointment only as I'm always busy. I highly recommend that you come and view the car before making any decisions. I'm open to offers around £6,600, no p/x. Feel free to call, text or email me with any questions. Please, please, please no time wasters!

More pictures to follow, thanks for reading!

REVISIONS
1/2/2011 - Exhaust gas blowing issue is being rectified before sale. The price of the car will NOT be increased as a result of this!
