Hi all i have a WRX import classic P-reg and the clutch is rather high and prob will be not to long till she starts to slip

What im after knowing is what clutches makes and types you have all tryed and would use again

Its a 280bhp model which does get some abuse not just trotted around in

My import is 280bhp and I've just fitted an exedy pink box clutch, has a noticeable better bite now its bedded in but still nice and smooth for town driving.

Speak to alyn at asperformance.

Exedy pink box is the most common choice, I went through two in 2 years and had judder issues with both, most people appear to have no issues though. Make sure you get the fly checked/skimmed though.

Glad you said that as mine judders despite apparently having an 'anti judder kit' or whatever it's called on it as well. It was fitted two months before I bought it so nothing to do with me.....as such!

His is definitely 280ps standard Andy. It's pretty much standard with only the backbox and mid section changed. This is Jonny Ricer's old car.
It's only the early wrx's that were 220ps (Wagon) and 240ps (Saloon)

If you look on the link, you can check out whats yours by what code is stamped on your Vin plate.

£259 for yours I think for a pink organic.

for clutch,.. I doubt anyone else will beat them for price.

or.. http://importcarparts.co.uk/parts.as...44&var=50&dc=y

these guys prices are excluding VAT.

these will be your cheapest places to buy.

The Pink will be good to the limit of the 5 speed box, although driven properly the standard clutch kits work fine. had a standard euro car parts clutch in my sti wagon running 330bhp and it never let go, (being launched at 5k didn't break it!)

I don't have any experience of the flea bay ones, my old sti was always driven with my foot berried in the carpet 50% of the time, the clutch covered 25k miles before car was sold, and never slipped once on a standard cheap one, that was with 330bhp, If you plan to mod I would splash the cash on the pink and make sure who ever fits it does the clutch slave cylinder mod (removing the damping valve) makes for a nice sharp change

If your feeling skimpy there are a few 2nd hand one's on scabby-net at the moment.. I personally have never had a 2nd hand clutch, maybe others on here have experience with this (sure some have had 2nd hand paddle clutches and the like)

You might want to give them a ring/message first as just realised that the bhp doesn't match up to the year :/
