I was not expecting that when I clicked on the link. Love the Porsche 962C, especially in the Jager colours!

What does he expect them to go for Phil? The 962 might go for up to 1.5million?
Will he replace them with something? |

Hi Tim, I don't believe the 962C will be worth as much as that since it was built by a team rather than the factory. The Ferrari is likely to be worth more, and I expect him to clear a couple of £million. He is also selling his Group C Nissan R91CK which he has campaigned in Group C for a few years. No idea what he intends to do with the proceeds, though he is doing the Radical Euroseries this year, will do a few events in his Lola T70 and is the first customer for the new GT3 Bentley that he'll race in the British GT championship this year. He' off to Portimao this weekend for testing.
Don't feel too sorry for him selling off his toys, he still has quite a few left, including another Lola T70 Spyder that was raced by Mark Donohue back in the day, a Daytona Competitione and a lightweight E-Type |

I can definitely say I wasn't feeling sorry for him.
My assumption was this was the chap who offered you a lift on one of a myriad of amazing cars a while back. It's nice to see someone who uses their money in exactly the easy I would if I had it! |

As Banstead said, fair play to him for putting his money to good use!

I reckon if I trade both my cars in then I'll be close to having enough for the Posrche (I'll haggle the difference). Then I've got the perfect daily driver...

He is a real enthusiast, and has always been generous with other enthusiasts, remembering when he was taken out in a Lotus Cortina as a kid. Consequently my son always got first ride in whatever the latest car was when we saw him. This must have been the best part of 20 years ago: Last edited by XRS; 01-02-2014 at 10:30 AM. |

Sounds like a proper fellow.
It's refreshing to see people like that, as in my experience, many go the other way and get a bit above themselves! |

The 962C didn't sell at Euro 700,000.
There were a few interesting cars I could have bought today. Very nice Austin 7 Ruby |
