Default BHP Performance Show 2014 - Lydden Hill

Few photos from this years BHP Performance Show, as held at Lydden Hill. Spotted quite a few Scoobs in the car park, so I guess some of you made it in!

UK Radical SR3 Champion Bradley Smith out on track…

…I think the Radical is a properly cool looking car, almost like a baby LMP car.

Nice to see a few Soarers amongst the sea of “S” chassis drift cars:

The wing on Wayne Keeber’s car looks like it should be on a drag car, not a drift car!

Damian Bradley’s Time Attack Legacy in action; first time I’ve seen this post-wide arch fitment. Have to say I thought it looked a lot better in the metal than it does in the photos I’ve seen (though I still preferred it in its “sleeper” guise!).

There were a huge number of Ford Escorts present, so many that they actually had a dedicated Escort session.

Some other retro Fords were out on track, including a very tasty sounding V8 Capri…

…and an ex-BTCC Sierra Cossie.

There was a good selection of track toys in action.

Walton Smith in the Jap Performance Parts RB26 Impreza. Last time he sat in the car was last August…

…didn’t seem to take him long to remember how to make a load of smoke though! It’s not the newest build, but the JPP Scoob is still one of my fave UK drift cars.

RK Tunings mental GTR.

Few more drift shots:

And one more of the JPP Scoob, just for good measure!

Have to say it was a really enjoyable event with a huge variety of cars in attendance again, plus the couple of things I found a bit dull last year weren’t back. My only gripe was that getting in was a ****ing nightmare: they seriously need to organise the entry properly next year!

I'm not expecting the World Rallycross to be anywhere near as bad.

BHP is easily the biggest event of the year at Lydden and everyone arrives on the morning of the event: the rallycross is spread over a weekend, so the concentration of traffic should be far less*.

* That's my theory anyway!

Now that doesn`t surprise me as you do like a bit of rear wheel traction or not I had a neighbour with a 3ltr, I cannot remember what pipes he had on it but the sound was brilliant when he use to rumble past.

The Capri sounded the nuts as well. There were so many Escorts there, along with an assortment of other old school Fords.
