Default World Rallycross, Lydden Hill - Saturday 24th/Sunday 25th May

For those of you who aren't yet aware, sliced bread isn't the best thing ever: rallycross is.

Saturday 24th May and Sunday 25th May is the second Round of the World Rallycross Championship at Lydden. This is the first year that rallycross has been a World Championship and the level has really jumped up. Petter Solberg is amongst the Championship regulars and guest drivers for this round include current BTCC champ Andrew Jordan and Top Gear USA presenter Tanner Foust. The entry number for the Supercar class is already record breaking, so its looking to be a huge event.

If you haven't been to Lydden before then its a great circuit to watch as you can pretty much see the whole circuit from any point on the track. Its just down the road from Dover; so to get there is only a quick blast down the M2 or M20 for most Surrey folk!

Saturday will be the first two set of heats, with the remaining heats and the all important finals on Sunday. You can buy advance tickets here, or just buy them on the gate if you want to wait until the day.

Provisional entry list now up:

http://media.rallycrossrx.com/docs/E...20Hill_GBR.pdf

37 Supercars
10 Touring Cars
23 Super 1600

Some serious names in the Supercar class: should be some good scraps for positions in the finals!

Had an excellent day at Lydden Hill today.

A mate of mine called me during last week and asked if i'd like to go with him (i'd usually go with the old man but he's in Germany at mo), what a surprise i had when entry was FREE.

After parking in VIP we went to see his mate who got us in. His buddy does the commentary for Eurosport (Andy Coley).

Next thing i know we were having coffee with Andy Scott, then onto meet Petter Solberg for another coffee and a chat, then a chillax with Andrew Jordan! Top top people. Spent some time having full hospitality with the guys then up to the 2nd tier of the Eurosport/Team commentary box to spend all morning next to Tim Harvey who was commentating with Andy.

To say I've had a good day is an understatement.

Today i've been in the company of great people, the weather was beautiful and the racing was top notch!

To those that have never been to Lydden (i've been going since i was 6!) it's an excellent day!

to Steve aka tbtstt, looking forward to your snaps.

You really landed on your feet there: bloody handy person to have contact with!

Excellent weekend of racing finished off with some excellent finals. Shame Petter couldn't make it two in a row, but brilliant to see Jordan back in a Supercar and on the podium. Hopefully its not the last time we see him driving for OMSE.

Don't hold your breath on the pictures: I've got a lot of them to sort through!

Shame that Pat Doran's RS200 wasn't out: was painful watching it burn on Saturday.

The S1E2 isn't my fave looking Group B car, but it sounded so good charging up the hill!
