Default Making Plan's for 2014 Hol's

Been meaning to get out to Norway since I last went when I was 11 (31 years ago).
I have relations out there so accommodation isn't problem. It was the cost and time to get the family out there that was always the problem.

EasyJet have just opened up a new route from Gatwick to Bergen (would be a great weekend away for anyone), but this got me thinking.

The equivalent Norwegian airline has also recently opened up many routes to Gatwick, so London-Gatwick to Alesund appears to be our preferred route.

Just a shame the Scooby can't go, as that was always the plan either by boat (the direct links to Norway went long ago), or the long way round aka Jeremy Clarkson in the Merc SLR (not viable with the family).

Looking at the flight to Alesund option, just the drive from Alesund to Molde has an amazing helta-skelta tunnel, just a shame it will be in a hire car......

Also looking forward to these places
The pass below is only 1:45mins from where we stay.
The Atlantic road is only 45 mins away........

And the Atlantic Road :

This will be my transport within 1 hour of landing, heading over the Fjord to Molde where my relations are based.

That looks awesome. Although it looks like a gravel road, I assume you're renting a car?

Rentals always go well on rough roads

Yes a rental but beginning to wish I'd picked a rwd.
Quite a few of the smaller roads used to be gravel but most I believe are now tarmac.

It costs £9.50 to drive this one.....a bit like another toll road we know.

Gopro will be stuck on the roof for some of these I think......
