Default Exhaust question , what next

Hi South east scoobies,

I recently purchased a Blitz nur spec r cat back system which sounds fantastic i might add.
I have a pretty much standard 2003 blob which im working on putting some mods on .
My question is , my old classic impreza was decatted and i loved the sound so i would like to do the same to this one. So to match my blitz nur spec r system will it be better to decat fully or remove the other cat and put in a race cat.

Could you guys point me in the right direction on which route to go down will give me the best benefit , will i need a remap if i fully decat or put in a race cat, and if so who do you recommend.

Also if i go fully decat , does anyone know a friendly mot ist , pm if you prefer.

many thanks hope to see you at a meet soon

Yes you will need a remap if you change the cat, there are a few reputable mappers around

Yeah just drive it with a light foot and try to keep boost low, get it remapped asap though to be sure.

Also mapping wise Richard at FB Tuning is supposed to be good as is Neil at Slowboy who I use, not to say Duncan isn't good, far from it, heard lots of good things about him as well.

I'm going to throw a massive spanner in the works now...

Not because I'm being a awkward tit, but just more so for information. I ran my bug for over 3 years with a decat system without it being mapped ( standard size exhaust ) with no issues. I did how ever get it checked once a year on the rolling road. Graphs were spot on each time. It went to Scotland 3 times, and once all the way to Switzerland.

Some of you were there at the old SRR, went I had the silly vortex extreme on ( didn't last long on the car, was very silly ) and it still came up with graphs with no issues.

I'm not saying you shouldn't get it mapped, as mapping has move advantages than just equipment changes. But if your just decat'ing get it booked in for a run first, check the graphs are fine, then go from there.
