Default European Rallycross, Lydden Hill - Photos

Had a top day out at the rallycross on Monday; great selection of cars, some really close racing and the weather just (just!) held out for the day.

I took a few pictures, and I think a few of you on here are rallycross fans, so I thought I'd post a few up here for you to view!

They are starting "proper" rallycross in the US later this year (there will be rallycross at X-Games and some trial events after that) with a view to having a full series in 2011. Foust is participating in the first four rounds of the 2010 European Championship to get some experience to help launch the series in the US. He was fifth fastest on the day (quite an acheivement given who he was racing with), but his car died on the grid of the "A" Final. Its a shame as I was looking forward to seeing how he'd fare against the likes of Isachsen and Hansen - irrespective the guys definately got skill!

As a minor side note (and not that it makes any difference to the actual racing), but Foust's car sounded phenomenal on track. It was just that bit more aggressive sounding than the other Olsberg Fiesta's - plus he was getting bloody great flames out the exhaust! (Though maybe thats why it expired on the grid!)

Ta! Some of them got some massive air off that kerb but, typically, they were doing it when I had the camera pointing the other way!

Thats interesting to hear that. Rallycross at X Games will be interesting for sure, no doubt it'll be the usual X-box Game legends doing that.

It's a bloody shame Fousts car died then, that would have been very interesting to see what he could do with the big boys.
