I know i've said this a couple of times but I want to make sure the day goes as smoothly as possible, so the details for the car club display are as follows.

You can arrive to set up anytime after 7am but we need you to be there by 9am at the latest.

There are two possible entrances, the Compass gate entrance and the Stovolds Hill entrance.
Do not use the postcode on the Dunsfold site as it doesn't work, you are better off using the road name e.g. Stovolds Hill, Cranleigh, Surrey to find your way there and then proceeding to the end to find the entrance.

Once there, please state to the waiting Marshals that you are part of the car club static display and let them know which club you are with and they will direct you to your display area which is on the runway next to the event arena.

I know the temptation to do high speed runs is there when you arrive but we have to ask you to observe the posted speed limits whilst on the airfield and please do not make too much noise. Loud revving, burnouts or donuts will get us into trouble and the offenders ejected - Dunsfold are very hot on noise and we are not really allowed to make any before 10am (which is why the rides don't start until then) so we would appreciate you helping us make sure there are no neighbourhood complaints.

The catering vans will be open early so you can get breakfast when you arrive and assuming you arrive before 8.15 you'll see the variety of supercars arrive and do a couple of formation laps, there's some very exciting metal in there including F40's, a Spyker C8 Spyder, an Enzo , F50, Lamborghini Diablo/Murcielago, Atom's X-Bows and more.

As display cars we do ask that you stay in place for the day for health and Safety reasons, the driving event finishes at 4pm and the event as a whole finishes at 4.30pm.

The Children's Trust have asked me to thank you very much indeed for supporting the event to this degree and appreciate you giving up your day to help their cause. We hope to provide you with the sort of interactive spectacle which will mean you wont notice where the time went.

There are still a few rides left but around 75% have been sold as of this afternoon.
you can still book them online but only until 3pm on Friday after which it will be a case of first come fisrt served on the day (the same deadline goes for the display tickets however those will not be available on the day)

The other areas that can be booked in advance are the Caterham drift area, the Roadcraft Driver training area and the young driver training section.

They may also be booked on the day along with the helicopter rides and the Rolling road dyno testing (which have not been sold in advance but are first come first served - another advantage of arriving early)

Some of the free spectacles are right next to you in the static display area, the Jordan F1 car, the Top Fuel Dragster from Santa Pod, the 3 live bands, East coast FMX the motorbike display team and M.A.D. the mountain bike display team.
so you wont have far to go to be in the middle of things, not forgetting of course the fact that you will be right next to the last two corners of the top gear track and will be able to see all the cars as they come around them.

We have all put a lot of hard work into the day and hope you have a fantastic time. Once again thank you for your support so far and on the day.

Will the fact I'll need to get to and from the driver training area be a problem then?

I'm sure it'll be fine to move around for that, they know a lot of the driver training people are already on club stands

Should be a great event. Thought I'd better clean the inside as well as the outside of the wheels!!!

Hope everyone else does the same!!

Moving to and from the Dyno/driver training area will not be an issue, the static display area is next to both of those.

We'd much prefer you not to leave early as the static display is part of the spectacle of the event however it wont be an issue if one or two of you have to make an early exit, we can arrange for the marshals to escort you past the driver training area and out to the perimeter road so you can leave.

What we're trying to avoid is a mass exodus of cars that will leave the display area looking forlorn (and of course the fact that there's an element of risk if cars are moving around in areas where the public are walking around).

but of course if you need to leave then we'll make sure you can do so safely

ok final bit of info...

just for general information,

The discounted static display tickets have now been withdrawn.
However you can still buy general entry tickets to the event.

Essentially, the difference is that the static display tickets cost £7 per car with any number of passengers whereas the general entry tickets cost £7 per person (and £3 per child) or a family ticket (2 Adults and 2 Children) for £15.
you can still buy those online.

if you want to be part of the display instead of parking in the public car park then you will still be able to even if you buy a general entry ticket, you simply may end up spending a bit more then if you had bought a display pass. (but for the static display area you will still need to turn up before 9am)

Finally if you want to turn up on the day and buy tickets you can do that as well (and park either in the PH zone or the public car park) but the tickets sold on the day will cost £8 per adult and £4 per child (or £18 for a family ticket)

I hope that makes sense? basically don't panic if you've not got a pass yet you can still come along and display/enjoy the event

R2 only has wheel trims so will put the new bling ones on when I arrive.
Just tried fitting my Wolfrace Alloys, car drives fine but a serious case of wheel arch extensions needed and that is only with 185 tyres.
Car in process of being cleaned but am also having to look after the dogs as the boss has gone shopping with the grand-daughter.

Well spotted there "keen-eye" Windust !!

Sadly my intense cleaning was all for nothing this weekend, as I have an "official photographer" engagement, now moved at short notice from today to tomorrow.

I have given my biggest apologies to Steve PPP cos I am supposed to be supporting him!!

Please all help him out tomorrow if you can.

oh, and speaking of the raffle, if it makes people want to bring their cash along to buy tickets, the prizes are:

1st Place:
Auto-Glym Car wash kit
Subaru heavy-weight coat
Subaru soft-cell jacket
Subaru polo shirt
Subaru Keyring & pen

2nd Place:
Subaru heavy-weight coat
Subaru polo shirt
Subaru Keyring & pen

3rd Place:
Subaru soft-cell jacket
Subaru polo shirt
Subaru Keyring & pen

4th Place:
Subaru polo shirt
Subaru Keyring & pen

I'm sure you all know the value of some of these items, so make sure you buy plenty of tickets - all the money goes to the Children's Trust

Steve and Claire as has been mentioned, you did a sterling job in the Gazebo.
Think you were two of the few who didn't get windswept.

And the raffle winners are:

1st Place: Dukeboy
2nd Place: Nick Townsend
3rd Place: Joanne Nash (anyone know if she's an SES member/friend of?)
4th Place: Steve Pain

I'll be in touch with all winners about getting prizes sent out in the correct sizes (they'll be coming from Hammonds so please allow for delivery times). Thanks to everyone who took part - the raffle ticket sales made £141 for the Children's Trust.

I'd also like to say a massive thanks to the guys from Hammonds Subaru - for driving all the way from Suffolk to come along, for bringing all the merchandise and for helping to make our club stand one of the best ones there It was also nice to have a hatchback scooby on the stand, and good to hear that they'll be getting the saloon version into the showroom next year.

For anyone who wants one, we also have some leftover vouchers for their website - www.subarupartsstore.co.uk - which has a discount code to get you free delivery on anything you order. Let me know if you would like one and didn't manage to get one from the stand today

Yep, t'was me. If it's any consolation, that fiver that Dyney robbed you of bought you five raffle tickets... unfortunately you still didn't win!

Thanks to all who helped out and manned 'SES HQ' while Steve and I went for a wander and thanks to everyone for buying raffle tickets - that's a nice bit of cash to send over to the Childrens Trust!

As Steve said, huge thanks to the chaps from Hammonds - the prizes were fantastic and very generous! We really appreciate you getting up so early and coming all that way to spend the day with us!

Jolly good show chaps!

Yes, big to Steve & Claire, all set up and ready to go when we arrived. Looked like a nice pot of cash for the charity too.
Oliver did count it out, and I think he said about £115 give or take while we were there.

He also enjoyed running the raffle while you were away and tidied the flyers and pens on the table while he was at it.
I also think we managed to flypost evey Jap car on the runway with the JapBash flyers, so hopefully this will come good.....

Once again to you both.
