IIRC your running a UK 97/98 you need to move a wire on the connector for the fuel pump and swap cam and crank.

Move Fuel Pump wire from Pin 17 to 7 on Connector B137
SwapCam and Crank signal wires B136 Pins 8 and 10

Below link shows connections and also has the details of the swaps in the bottom corner i.e the * items.
Your bascially swapping from an ECU with an Immobiliser (the UK one) to an ECU without one (the Apexi).

Its a 1994 wrx with the 4plug ecu.
i thought it as a straight swap and mapp, why wouldnt the lap top not reckonise the apexi? when he mapped another power fc for the same year wrx 2weeks before?

Confused....first post says laptop not responding. So u must of already tried with a laptop. You fitted it to map It so must of been using a laptop or fc commander. If laptop was not responding sounds like Ecu is not powered.

Apexi used to repair them but you had to send back to Japan.
The 93-96 went obsolete, so may now be un-supported.
