Default Insurance in BN2?

Hello, posted a mini rant on another Subaru forum, but might get more help from someone in and around BN2 as it might be the post code making my quotes expensive...

The rant is:

So my plan of returning to the UK and selling the C2GT in May and using the Subaru (classic V2 WRX STI) as my 'weekend car' over the summer might end up in me selling the Subaru instead.

Insurance companies are having a laugh!

I'm 29, clean licence, 7 years NCD and never a claim on my insurance in over 10 years but still getting quotes around £800.

I do about 5000 miles a year max, I have a company car in the UK and spend 6 months abroad (in a foreign company car) I live 2200m up a mountain in a small village that's 5 meters under snow and have never had to claim on my company insurance either.

I also have a classic car with it's own policy that's never had a claim on. I think I've proven I'm not a 'boy racer' or a high risk, so why am I being treated like one?

If I can't get my insurance for £500 or less, I'm selling it, toys out the pram.

Someone help me please? My UK post code is a BN2 one, but it's the nice part of town, detached house, garage and drive...

Who do you recommend?

I would recommend gary moulson of Keith Michaels insurance plc.

Maybe he could shed some light on your post code and quote queries.

Hi mate, I'm 25 with three years no claim bonus and I pay 640 pound for my 06 sti with privilege but I'm changing to moley (keith Michaels) at my next renewal, because privilege aren't so good with mods (have no idea what your talking about).

Your best bet is to go on a comparison site first, then try Keith Michaels, A plan, greenlight etc. to see how they conpare.

but imo subarus and cheap insurance don't go together.

We just dropped the forester insurance from almost £900 to £420, try quote me happy if it's std or go for Gary Moulson (do not speak to anybody else) at Keith Michaels.

Thanks mate, that sounds more reasonable, but for some reason they wouldn't quote me unless it had a tracker :S

The problem you've got is that whilst you might live in a nice part of BN2, the postcode also includes Moulsecoomb, Whitehawk and other not so nice parts of town (no offence to anyone who may live there! )

Try 0208 2880275, then 0208 6427868 if you can't get through.

Failing that pm me your number and i'll give you a call, or pm me your details (as many as possible) and i'll work a price out first thing

Ha ha that was when the car was standard, its gone up 100 pound since then due to mods. My old wrx was 1900 a year with Aviva but that was heavily modded lol.

Moley is the way forward mate, ill be giving him a call my next renewal too.
