Welcome to SES

Why not spray the wing markers yourself? Just sand the raise letters down first, pretty easy to do

Welcome to SES! You will see some very nice bug's on here. Firstly, 200 miles isn't far out, if you are only driving the car around town. If you are out on longer runs with it then it should be doing more like 250 i would think. I tend to get 220 miles to a tank (£70) around town but a 2.5 with 6 speed.

No cats is a good way to go if you want to free up all of the performance. You will need a remap though. No real problems, just keep it serviced, check the cam belt has been done and warm it up and cool it down before giving it the beans.

For morettes etc, keep an eye on ebay and worth looking on scoobynet as alot of parts come up on there.

Be good to see you at a meet, keep an eye on the meets section, we are a friendly bunch.

:wwelcome: nice to see another bug. (were taking over slowly )
200miles sounds about right that's roughly what I'm getting in mine driving round town
I agree with steveppp that's got to be the quickest cheapest way of doing it.

Yeah. Bugs are sensitive to misfires I did it within 20 min of buying. The way to get it off is start the car run for a few secs turnoff for a few secs. On the fourth time of starting the light should go out. But defiantly get a dionstics done for peace of mind and a general health check. Don't cost much either.

What I done was a dyno test which obviously told me the bhp and lb. but I found out my max revs were 5750 before drop off anything more put stress on the engine. Since then mines never misfired. (I'm very anal about the health and how my car runs lol)
Not saying its what you should do but it's just some ideas.

Yep, get the CEL come on fairly regularly if i go near the limiter on boost. Bugeyes are known for being a bit on the sensitive side

Let it cool down, then switch the engine on/off 4 times and it clears the light.

Oh, and get some pics up

Christ I am getting between 240-270 miles per tank which when I worked it out over a period of about 8-10 weeks ranged between 21-26.5 mpg

If your exhaust is a full system and de-catted and you've not had the car re-mapped you are asking for an expensive bill! It may be fine but there's every chance you may end up blowing the engine.

Mine was running 275 with a sports cat 3' system and air filter swap, I also had the fuel pump replaced/uprated for piece of mind.

Needs mapping for the exhaust definitely.

Not revving past an rpm because it has issue higher up is also stupid imho.
It might have issues lower but not enough to trigger the cel light.

Give Simon (JGM above) a message he'll be able to map the car so it's safe with the existing mods, however any future changes may mean the map needs checking/tweaking.
