Default Newbie In West Sussex with Hawk eye WRX

Hi All,

I've Been browsing around looking to pick up tips with my new motor, had it a few weeks and looking to sort out last few niggles now it's had the important bits done.

Got a nasty dent right in the crease of the boot lid it's 06 saloon.
Rear bumpers scraped on both sides
couple of dints in each front door
couple of patches of lacquer

other than that there's an annoying squeak since I had the water pump, cam/aux belts changed that goes away with a slight bit of pressure to the clutch pedal

This site kept on popping up here there and everywhere that's why I'm here now. I apologise in advance if the above space shouldn't have been for my moans!

Lou

Welcome

Whereabouts are you in Sussex? There are several scoob specialists in the area, might help us point you in the direction of your nearest

Bootlids are easily swapable if you can find another one in the same colour.

Hi oldskool

It's blue (forgive me I've not checked the colour code yet) they're pretty tiny and a bodyshop freind said paintless dent removal will do the trick 50 squid a dent, not sure yet though
I've not really been actively hunting yet just getting over the hit for buying the car, service cam belt tyres etc (Well and the upcoming holiday too!)
Cheers for the shout if I need some specialist hands I'll give them a bell.

Evening Steve_PPP

I'm quite near Gatwick, was told about Japanese performance parts up in Crawley not spoke with them yet though.
I've seen a boot lid from a 02 Bug eye but wasn't sure if a direct swap AND it's got extra holes for the STI spoiler, it's dirt cheap though so might be worth having as a temp if I do get mine body shopped.

Hi Oldskool,

Nice one, where you picking up from? it's more the boot lid and bumper than anything, but not rushing to be fair.

A bugeye bootlid will fit (they're the same shape) but you want to find a later one. They changed the lock style in about 2004 - the older bootlids had a smaller round lock and the later ones had a square lock. If you get an earlier one, you won't be able to transfer your lock across and hence won't be able to open it with your key

Cheers Steve, Yeah I noticed that. this one looks like it has the rectangular hole :S. I'd rather have no f-ing lock on it so when dumb **** friends open it with the keys left inside...
