The Brembo calipers on your car are very good so i don't think you'd need to shell out a grand on the KSport or Prodrive kits unless your planning a lot of track time or just have spare cash to splash You'd be better getting a decent set of discs/pads and decent brake lines/fluid.

Performance Friction are very highly recommended - they do discs for your brembos and i think a couple of people on here are using them. The discs are pretty expensive (although still less that you were looking at with the whole brake kits )

Have a look around and you might find them cheaper online somewhere

Hi all

Thanks Steve_PPP ill take my time and get some decent ones even tho i havent been on a track, im probably just a fool who cooks his breaks. but i think these standard brakes are poo. they might be a cheap pair they have replaced at some point, as you say the calipers are good but i dont want to shell out on new stuff to find out its not up to the job.
As the cars prodrive i would of thought it would of come with the prodrive set. i bought these for my classic and they are life savers the car could do an endo, but to replace discs and pads its expensive.

I might be wrong but i wouldn't have thought the Prodrive alcon caliper is much better than the Brembo caliper? i can see how they'd be a massive upgrade over the standard classic front brakes, but the brembos are too....

there are a lot of cheapo naff discs/pads around on ebay etc so you might just have a bad set on there. got any pics or the discs on there at the moment? grooved or drilled or standard?

I've also heard some poor opinions of EBC stuff too (saw you linked to their site).

yeah the Brembos are 4 pot like the prodrives, they are just larger to fit the 330 disc in but they handle the heat better.

Yeah ive heard a horror story on EBC, the pads are harder than the disc so the discs wear more.

How do i know to compare to standard if the ones on are cheap arrgghh ill take some pics and you tell me lol im sure they are.

BIGE emailed me and said he got standard ones from scooby for £600 or summit like that, id rather upgrade and fit myself (no offense BIG E)

i know subaru take the piss when servicing.
Horror story; i used to take a subaru to Wilsons in Dagenham for years thinking its best for the car not my pocket. Then i blew my big ends and cracked a head when my mechanic who worked for scooby but was doing it on the side took engine apart he said that the left hand side spark plugs had never been changed as the engine has to be dropped for access.
They crossthreaded a wheel nut, and scratched the front leaning in engine.
im reluctant to use main dealers as they all look profesional but look in the workshop im not agist but i would prefer and experianced person to look at my car rather than a spotty apprentice Herbert.

just found out today too that all wr1s come with a tracker as standard so all i got to do is activate, it happy days.
