Default Bit of advice please

Got a Legacy GT on a P plate 97, was driving today and the ''Check Engine'' dash light came on. When i turned the car off and on again it went off. I just wondered if anyone knew what it may be????? Thanks

Each fault gives the ECU a different code.
How to read the code:

you most likely struggle 'reading' a 97 car due to them being non OBD compatible

simply use the dash plugs to flash the code
