Talking Happy Bunny!

At last.....

....... I have made it into the 400's

Many thanks to Simon (JGM) and Charlie today. After fitting a new RCM Induction Kit this week, Simon installed the new Simtek map today and then mapped it on the rollers.

Got 413.5bhp & 405ft lb as the highest run, but Simon wound it back a bit to 410bhp & 400ft lb torque. Happy with those numbers, considering it's still top mount.

Cheers Simon

Cheers mate. Got there in the end. Simon reckons with FMIC it would make 450 (CJ Figures). But I have got just what I wanted and am happy to stick.

It feels spot on too and sounds the nuts.

Next thing, brakes!

Those are the numbers I have been after without going FMIC. I always said 400/400 on the top mount and then stop.

But, i'll see another shiny thing one day and like the Magpie that I am I won't be able to resist.

What boost were you running James?

Was that with FMIC?

Just a shame he didn't have a spare Simtek with him or else it would have gone in mine!

The guy at the local polish car valetters has somehow fooked steves imobiliser by pressing it and turning the key a dozen times whilst trying to move the car.
Dave from Gatwick is trying to sort it out.
Fingers crossed the get a result, poor bugger was out for a blast took it for a clean and is now stuck in the bloody cold with a non starting scoob.

Why has it blown, has there been extra load put onto the associated circuit?
I would be carefull raising the rating to 20A

I have been discussing it with SimTek, not currently sure if it is a simtek related problem or just a coincidence that CJ and Steve with the same issue and both now on SimTek and both after a stall.. it is possible at stall it fires all four coils which maybe enough to blow the 15amp fuse.

For the time being I'll fit a 20amp fuel with each SimTek on a newage lol.

but my car has never done it and is on a simtek and I have just been out and deliberately stalled it a couple of times with no issue.. strange.. and I cannot believe the issue wouldn't have happened before now having installed so many.

So long as a 20Amp doesnt blow then cant see it being a problem if its on the ignition circuit.
Electronics is my thing and i have seen some nastys when a fuse value is increased.
