Default Hello from the Kent Coast,

Hi Everyone,

I had a "Cheeky" request on another forum to come and say Hello!

So here I am!

I am based in Deal, on the coast near Dover,

Currently own:-

McRae Number 34 (I think) currently undergoing a rebuild after being left engineless etc since 2008. Replacement engine fired up for the first time yesterday. So bodywork etc to follow.

Prodrive, original 1997 Prodrive press car, the actual car featured in december 1997's performance car mag. Again, light restoration work being undertaken which included a replacement engine!

RB5 number 138. Originally from Kent. Purchased last week, Remapped by Bob Rawle and putting out approx 287 bhp. Again light resto on rear arches and roof pain (bird poo gone through laquer). Extremely nice car to drive, complete with leather interior.

Next year (currently being sorted) a P1 ! This is a 71k mile car. Was stripped as being broken due to conrod hrough block! I convinced the garage to convince the owner to let me have it. So, over the winter months the garage are putting it back together, Bodyshell is mint! Couldn't let it die could I

Before you all think I've lost my marbles. There is a reason, honest! I have 2 companies, one will be doing performance motor oils and the other does oil additives (invented by the chemist who invented Mobil 1). These cars will be at shows etc and promotional vehicles for the products.

Hope to catch up with some of you in the new year at a meet or two (if any in east Kent).

Cheers

Ray

Hello & welcome Ray. That's a fine collection of Scoobs you have there. Have you any pics? If so it would be good to see the before & after pics or even ongoing pics.

Welcome to to club mate, love the prodrive. Reminds me of the first scoob I ever drove and the reason I caught the bug.

Hi
Well I suppose the prodrive, in a way, is one of the cars that started it all.

Being the press car for Prodrive it was the one they took out and put through its paces to write the reports.

I'm just waiting on my bodyshop guy to give me an idea of when he wants the cars in and then the fun begins.

Also, hopefully, the P1 should be going together soon with a few extra goodies (WR Sport).

Hopefully, I'll have one or two of them at Lydden next year

or Nathan ar Bumper to Bumper in Deal

CSG had a rear wing for the prodrive but it depends if he can fit them in as very busy.

Don't know any others.

Hi, Chris does some fantastic work and yes he does still do work for SVA imports as far as I am aware.

Saw Chris today. Prodrive booked in for next week, The RB5 after that then the Mcrae!

Ooh..... Did I mention............. Have now acquired a 95 Commemorative Legacy twin turbo automatic estate! Looks a similar colour to the McRae.

Few jobs to do on that one then pass it on I reckon

Well the prodrive is with Chris at CSG in Deal,

Rear arches repaired with new steel and look ace (offside had started to take the inner arch out as well). However, the paint is so badly faded on the car we have opted for a full respray

Went down for a look this afternoon. The car has had no paintwork in it's lifetime which isn't bad for a press car and a car that hasn't been looked after mechanically but was obviously loved.

So, good time for the car park dinks to come out.

Couple of minute crows feet rust marks also gone!

This car is going to look lovely when done! Be out in the sunshine to play!

Next in will be the RB5 and then the other V4 in reddish blue I bought last week (was going to be broken. Couldn't have that

After that will be the McRae for a full going over!

Working on it

Bought another one last week. A 1997 Reddish Blue impreza turbo.

Was going to be broken. So I bought it

Whate's wrong with it?

Rear arches. So they will be sorted, They were repaired with a rattle can finish. Will get this sorted and then signwritten and then it will be a mobile billboard for the oils and oil additives I'm doing. It has a prodrive ECU apparently so it may have to do a few gentle trips around the track as well.

So, next year. Lydden may see, the prodrive, the RB5, hopefully the Mcrae and the new one. Don't know whats happening ref the P1 currently as I've had no updates.
