Default What colour?

OK, as I'm taking my manifold off to replace the fuel lines etc. (Perrin kit on the way) I'm also planning to remove the tgv butterflies and port the bodies. To do this I've got hold of a complete manifold which I fancy painting (VHT crinkle) - now should I go Red a la STI or Black?

I also fancy painting the intercooler while it's off, will this cause any problems with the efficency? Or do I just paint the 'frame' and leave the fins alone - if I so this can I remove the painted Sti logo to replace it with a WRX one?

i wouldn't be too worried about looking like an STI under the bonnet, loads of people drop STI engines into WRXs and it looks good.

I'd go red top, and leave the STI on the intercooler. Putting WRX on it will make it harder to sell if you ever decide to go front mount (come on, at the rate your modding, it won't be long! )

Intercooler, spraying it should be no problem as long as you dont over do it, just a couple of thin layers

Having now received these....

I think I will go black - just the Samco Intake pipe to source now, well while the manifolds off why not!

Just be different and go with what you want.
Black with yellow detail, and deffo the pig on the intercooler would be good

Think I'm just going to do the surround of the intercooler, leave the fins, maybe remove the STI logo and put a WRX logo on. Mines a bit tatty looking basically - looks like the 'frame' has been painted before so shouldn't reduce the efficency if I leave the actual fins alone should it? (obviously I won't paint the joining faces).
