Just found this little cracker in Glasgow with in my budget as well 1998 Terzo can transfer all my parts across if I go for it then I can have more money for more performance parts what should I do. Fix mine or buy another one any way here is a few pictures.

This is the silver one down in England with in my budget as well

Both very clean examples in the pictures and both have full service histories and low mileage for their age .

I'd definitely go and look at the terzo. Looks very nice. And by transferring bits over, it'll make a great car for not a lot of money.

100%

It would be good to have another blue scoob in SES...

The terzo looks great apart from the silly bonnet scoop - but thats easily changed. I'd go with that if its a clean straight car

I like the look of the Terzo too.

Worthy of a look I would say.

The key benefit of keeping your car is you know it, warts and all. However, if there is a straight car out there and you can make a better one from the two on budget then seems sensible to me.

Also, with the Terzo, provided you don't go mad, you can put it back to standard if you wanted at some point and have a future classic on your hands which will command a premium (hopefully)!

Having just had quotes for my arches from a couple of people local to work, I'd say make sure they are rock solid and don't buy one with a bloody sun roof in it, pretty much doubles the cost of having the roof resprayed.

Contemplating doing Germany and then selling mine, can't be bothered to throw a load of money at it. That or buy a solid one with a blown engine and transfer over my low mileage mechanicals and sell the rest as spares.

Been texting the guy about the Terzo comes with part service history , 11 months mot , 6 months tax , no problems with the engine , got a few issues a little bit of rust on the back left arch and few little car park dings which can be sorted so I think this car won't hang around long enough for me to go and have a look as he's got someone looking at it tonight and again tomorrow . He is going to send me some close up pics of the rust on the rear arch then I will go and have a look at it if he still got after the weekend .

The suspense is killing me going to give him a txt on sunday .

I asked him to send me some recent pics of the car and here it is

And this is the pic of the wee bit of rust on the arch

So hopefully this will be my new toy if it doesn't sell tomorrow as he's got another viewing tomorrow .

If you're happy to sort the rust on the arch then i'd definitely go with that!

The wheels look like the genuine Prodrive GT1's off the RB320 as well, rather than the cheaper Inovit Torque replicas (that i had!). Not cheap to buy and hard to find as well....

Well I will be asking for a bit off the asking price to get the arch sorted and I will be replacing those wheels with mine I just hope the car doesn't sell tomorrow and its fitted with a flamer kit so that's a must to get rid of .

Good point.

They were also produced in silver for both the GB270 saloon (and black for GB270 wagon) though which were PCD100 as they were WRX-based editions. RB320 was a bad example to use

This has just came up for sale and the owner is a lady

Why does this happen when you find something you like or about to go and buy the selling price is fixed at £2100 .

The mica blue seems to be the better option has full service history with all receipts of proof and has had 5 owners where as the Terzo has part service history and has had 11 owners and both have good uprated parts fitted and good bhp .

Already buying his FMIC off him I would need to respray the whole shell back to its original colour which wouldn't be a cheap job to do .

You might be able to use it to your advantage though. I'd mention how much of a piss take it is and how hard that sort of thing makes selling a car. Might make him more inclined to cut a deal with you as you know your onions and plenty of others would try it on with that info!

That was worth the 4 hour drive to see the terzo jacked it up check all 4 arches all solid on the inside , front bumper needs a full respray and its already cut for a FMIC that's a bonus , the back arches just need treated and resprayed as its surface rust , engine is so quiet , full decat hks system , 3 gauges fitted with centre pod but need to be wired up , took it for a test drive oh yes liked that part it can shift , 2 folders full of paperwork and receipts , underneath is all good so I gave him an offer in cash due to the work that needs done which is cosmetic he's going to think about it and get back to me and I think he will take the offer so watch this space .

Don't mean to worry you but are you sure the gauges haven't been disconnected for a reason, could the owner be hiding oil pressure or boost issues?

Done one on my last week and it came back at £1800 (IIRC), they then phoned me on Monday and asked if I wanted to complete on the deal........I'll leave you to think of what was going through my mind, although not coming out of my mouth in the reply.

Well going back to Helensburgh today to pick up the terzo and I managed to get £500 off the asking price , looks like I will need to buy another tax disc holder if Steve has any left , already sourced a classic bonnet scoop and bonnet vents in the same colour off a fellow member on Scottish scoobies who owns a terzo so tomorrow looking forward to the drive back then start stripping mine to put on the terzo then get rid of my silver classic .
