Default The SLaG's Booked in for it's last bit of work

Just in time for the ring trip, the last bit of the re-build is here.

The SLaG is booked in for early March to have the wing mounted oil cooler fitted. Which will also smarten the front end up, as it will mean having the duel air intakes in the front fog lamps, instead of just the one. Also, will fit the 2 black mirrors at the same time.

So, instead of looking like this....

It will look like this....

Ah mate, that will look the nuts, and balance it out nicely. I for one would move over if I saw that appearing in my mirror!.

Think you may get pulled for that plate tho

Nice. A Carbon, back or dark grey rear spoiler might look nice and different and balance it out all well.... Would need to see a photo shop and a few angles on the car though as it might look odd....

But then it would start to look more like an Evo MR..... which is the better looking car lol

As with any of these things its all a question of personal taste. It would equally look nice leaving the mirrors in silver and getting the vent colour coded silver as well.

Thanks guys

Rob, I agree about the rear spoiler I will have a photoshop tweak at some point to see what it would look like.

I did think about colour coding the bonnet grill, but thought the carbon would look better.

With regards to the mirrors, I have had silver since the word go and following some donut winging my drivers side mirror thought it might be worth a change.

I can guarantee that if it's a blast off the line, James will murder him. What with James' drag racing and Niges Laggy turbo.

If they were side by side at say 4000rpm, it would be really interesting for sure. I wouldn't like to put a lot of money on either then.

I was talking with Nige yesterday and know what happening with his Evo. I know that will be an absolute beast of a thing when on boost. It will go really well round the ring. But on the roads round and about, it might be a bit laggy.

I dont mind a blast in a straight line & it's fun when playing with the big porkers & high powered Scoobs. As it says at the bottom of my page twisty bits thats what floats my boat.
I have no idea what my car is going to be like yet. I will eighther hate it or love it. If i hate it then that tubby will be straight off. Allot of people have told me it's going to be pant's & others have said just give it a try & see if you like it. One thing is certain i miss Jimmys advice on this & it maybe a costly mistake. Trying to get a compromise between a good rd & track car is hard. Lack of Evo experience by me & JRM dont help. MLR guys blow in the wind & keep things to themselfs if your not in the click forget it. So guy's this time round my car may not be as good as it was last year. Your time to kick some Evo butt is only a few months away

So what brake up grade are you going for?

You have made it go quicker but what about stopping?

No more power at all Ian. Just an Oil Cooler being fitted.

It stops just fine at the moment, Just need new rear disks and pads. I couldn't get many more horses on there without upgrading the brakes though.

Am I wrong in thinking that you still have OE brakes ???

Thats what I meant.

But I am probably wrong.

No mate, you are not wrong. Gold Brembos with Yellow Stuff Pads. But the pads will be changed for the ring to either Performance Friction or these Ferrado DS3000 that Nige was telling me about.

I would like to upgrade the brakes, but the truth is mate, I can't afford to upgrade them at this moment in time.

2nd that - I think it would complete the look and look the mutts nutts.

White wheels should be left for white cars only, but thats just my preference.

at first i didn't like the silver/white combination but its grown on me a lot. A set of fat white wheels would look the nuts (9 or 9.5J) altho quite a few are doing that now.

It sounds like an awful combination, but when I saw it on Dyneys at the Gatwick day, it started growing on me.

I think I need to have a photo session with both sets on and see what people think.

I would have preferred black wheels maybe....but..... with a prominent white number plate, the wheels do go with that for sure.

That is something I have noticed from lots of pictures with black wheels, unless the light and angle are perfect it is very hard to pick out detail.

White always seems to stand out more
