Rich, it would be better for us to go up the M26 / M20 to be honest mate. Straight down to Ashford.

Remember, we are going to get Grieg from East Grinstead.

You were on the phone to a workmate about a tower you were paying £600.00 a week for and had not used?

Right guys its 225 miles from the centre of Dunkirk to destination.
Not to bad at all.

I suggest we make a stop for bite to eat etc around half way, which is roughly Brussel's.
I have set up journey route in good old Tom Tom

Not sure if any part of the A3/E40 is unrestricted speed limit yet, still investigating

Dunkirk port is in the middle nowhere and not too close to the town.

I'd suggest getting past Brussels before stopping, it's a nightmare and the worst part of the journey. I hate the ring road with a passion and it's even harder in a convoy as people are easily separated due to sudden turn off and sheer volume of traffic.

E40 certainly is restricted as that's in Belgium which has a 120kmph limit. I ended up in the back of a police van and fined €175 this year (I was also 4mph away from being banned and car impounded). There are also speed cameras on the E40 either side of Brussels now.

Thanks mark.

So as said before, stick to speed limits. They will be looking for the likes of us.

If you wanna go tearing off, you can do it on your own

Jeeeeeeeesuz!!!!!!

It's amazing that people take the risk, especially when they have the power to take your car.

I'm not going to be doing a "driving Miss Daisy" by any stretch but no fast blatts at all.

One question that comes to mind, over here as a rule, there is the 10% tolereance rule that you can pretty much get away with except in a 30

Is this the case in Europe? 110kph must be 110kph? And not near 120kph?

He was on an R1 I think, it works out an average speed on 112mph.

No idea about their tolerances. I tend to cruise below 3k rpm if I'm in not rush, I got 400miles out of a tank last time. Although I'm no stranger to stretching the old girls legs, say if I'm late for the ferry/train

I'm on the 8pm Norfolkline ferry on Friday so I'll be arriving at my mates house at 3am in Adenau so I'll no doubt see you by the track Saturday afternoon. I'll be the grumpy looking guy in a blue 55 plate Impreza STi with a NorthLoop sticker in the rear window.
