Joint meet? No doubt we will hear from our Events Organiser.

Personally, it sounds okay to me, but, based on my former role for SS and knowing the pub quite well, here's a few things to consider.

There might be trouble if SES members turn up in their SES polo shirts...... so you'll have to accept that we (SES) booked the venue first!

If you choose to have the SS meet at Beachy Head, and that means an increased number of Scoobs, there may be a parking issue if it's a nice day, as it is a bank holiday weekend.

There may also be long delays for food if they don't have sufficient staff to cope.

We decided for the SES meet that we would warn people that there might be parking difficulties if it is a nice day. That problem may be worse if it's a joint meet. Also, the SES meet doesn't start till 4pm. If it becomes a joint meet I suggest you do the same.

I suppose SS could always meet from 12 till 4...........

This is true
Keith has made a vaild point, if we combine the meets parking maybe a issue especially as it's bank holiday weekend

So what both Buzz and myself have decided is...
that we're are going to have the meet at The Treacle Mine @ Polegate at 1pm.

So if anyone that wants to go to both, can do as there are in close proximity.

Also Buzz has as some wagon squadron stickers and should be attending both meets

That sounds a fine idea Cath. The people who are members of both clubs can wear black/yellow early afternoon and change into orange and blue for evening wear!!!

I will be at the late afternoon/evening meet.
One of the reasons for this time was that is doesn't knacker the whole day up, which suites me.

So we have a clash of dates.

I wish to point out this is completely coincidental.

Thanks to Cath and Buzz for sorting out a different venue, for the S.S., seeing that it is a bank holiday, a joint meeting would be chaotic!.
(as SUBARMAN mentioned in his post with regard the parking and catering )

But having said that anyone that turns up from SS will be very welcome, I am sure they will be impressed with a magnificent display of "T" shirts.

So if you have not got one please order one today, ( use the link in the T shirts thread)

I ordered my second one and it arrived in just four days.

Thats a point, we were supposed to do the last Saturday / Sunday of the month! So that we didn't clash with any meets.

You can go if you wish, on the last Saturday.

It will a bit of a round trip from GERMANY though.

Lady Turbo,
Before you graced us with you presence, there was a little problem with T shirts, long story but it ended up with four members of SS being banned.
I will endeavor to tell what went on, when I see you at the meeting.

That was over a virtually ago now.Now its just become an in house joke.

Yes we all have scoobies in common that go to the meetings, and everybody that goes to the meetings gets on.

Its the people that dont go to the meetings that cause problems.

If that wasnt the case, I would like to know why this happened then?

This a car forum YES but, there are people on here that will not forget, the disgraceful way so called Senior Members were treated, dress it up how you want the intention of Scott was for the better of SS.

Lets not start it all over again on here we have left all that stuff behind on the other forum so lets not lower the standards of this one. I dont think ill ever know why i got banned but i dont care anymore as im now member of two other forums who are very very friendly and always approachable so every cloud has a silver lining.

Whats done is done, lets enjoy life!

Don't tar everyone with the same brush Tone....

I'd like to know what the other reasons where in my case, because AFAIK I was banned for suggesting a change of T-Shirt design, doing the leg work on the design, supplier and pricing plus trying to raise the profile of the club at events/meets.
It was for the benefit of Sussex Scoobies.....no-one else......one of the moderators was even in on the thread where we where floating colour scheme ideas.

Then all of a sudden the shutters came down on the T-Shirt idea, the thread was removed/deleted and hence all hell broke loose, those that voiced their opinions on the handling of the matter by the moderators felt the wrath of the 'Ban Stick'.

I was accussed of making a profit on the shirts, using the logo without permission and using the name without permission. (the name and the logo where actually from the original East Sussex Scoobies website http://www.eastsussexscoobies.co.uk/index1.htm, which had nothing to do with the moderators).

This change/focus on a new shirt was spurred on after comments from the Autotuner event, that I organsied, were along the lines of "We just looked like a load of blokes with Scoobs that didn't know anyone, rather then a Regional group'.

If you really want I can re-publish the whole thing as I have it all cached away on my hard drive.

Lastly, I don't have any issues with Sussex Scoobies, their Shirts, or the 'Real' people that arrange meets/events.

Plus South East Scoobies is about amalgamating all groups, not alienating them.....

i dont know witch members were banned for what (and i frankly dont care) i am not taring with the same brush as wasnt talking about t-shirts and why each member was banned, just that i know a few were banned for that reson etc
i think they way the situation was handeled was bad but nothing you can do about it now is there.

the point of this thread was i was hoping the 2 clubs could have a joint meet as there was a clash of dates

the whole t-shirt thing i havnt got any t-shirts relating to any car clubs i belong to. and will never. we turn up to the meet have a chat to other members really dont see the point of wearing one.

I was not around when all this was going on but from running a small bike club that went on to become very large we had the same talk years ago over t-shirts/clothing.The only reason when the club went for t/shirts in the start was the local meets that were being set up,we were having people turn up and stand in the back ground as they did not know who to make in (went of a better way of putting it) 'First contact'.Then they would come on the forum a say how unsociable or clicky we were not the case as we did not know they were there especially if they turned up in a car or different bike. The t/shirts worked for us allowing the first timers to see there was some one there from the club. This went on to help with the big shows as well/meets as well pointing out who is running the stands etc.Having been at Gatwick last weekend with my t/shirt on it made it so much easier to make that 'First Contact'.I hope to make both meets and make a bit of a afternoon out of it. Thats my view on it

Time out Ladies and Gents.

This thread was started in respect of the Sussexscoobies meet.

It has degenerated into a "what happened on http://www.sussexscoobies.co.uk" discussion, old ground that has been covered before.

I am therefore locking the thread.

If any of you disagree with this course of action, please PM me your views. I'd like to think that I am impartial to this debate and can therefore be objective.

Thanks.
