Default Saywell Track Day 25.02.17

A few pics from the morning session at Goodwood today, a bit cold and gloomy but plenty on display as always.

As normal I haven't edited any of the pics because that's beyond my capabilities and realistically because I haven't got it in me to devote that sort of time to it, but they will do!

Some nice cars there indeed. Great variety. The Brabus was outrageous V12 900 badges and the interior was phenomenal - coated in leather.

Interesting seeing the number plate on the yellow Aventador, there used to be a black Countach in Hastings with the number plate A6GRO.

Nice photos guys. The new NSX looks cool, not seen one in the flesh yet.

Was it as packed as the previous Saywell day or did the weather/time of year keep some of the crowds away?

It was busy, as the Supercar convoy from Surrey/London didn't arrive until 10:15 so they ended up in the overflow.
But Paddock 1, where a lot of the Supercars normally parked, was quite empty as they had 2 or 3 transporters there for the Ferrari's

It was not as busy as this time last year which, was at full capacity.
There did seem to be more un-supervised kids with ipads running around getting over excited though.

I shouldn't get too annoyed though, as I would of been the same had technology been around in my day as a 12-16 year old.
It beats cycling around town with your 110 camera in your pocket looking for 80's 911's and Lotus Esprit on driveways, and a new white 1981 XR2 in the Ford showroom being your highlight of the walk to school.

When we came back at 1:30pm they still had marshalls on the gate. They directed us back in to the control tower car park which was still full. We knew the paddock was emptying out, so snuck around him and parked near enough where I was in the morning.

Just a little clip on how a 488 can catch you by surprise.
Not quite sure why it happened though, because with 'Leaving Goodwood' drive mode engaged !!!!!......this is quite sedate :

Whoops, the old case of bank balance being superior to talent!

Looks like it spun up the rears when he put the power down in 2nd, but as you say it wasn't a full on launch....

Nice video. On leaving I had an assortment of teens encouraging me to give it some. I left like a slug explaining to my passenger about the video I had seen of a sideways R8 almost hitting oncoming traffic.

Would be a nice insurance claim that especially with all that video evidence. Perhaps even dangerous driving.

On my sensible hat I also explained about cold engine & tyres.

I then watched a TVR about 200 yards behind me leaving sideways. Only a matter of time before the police park up..... but then do they need to with all that video evidence.

Great Free day for car enthusiasts be a shame to spoil it for the future.
