Sold my injectors as was not keen on cutting them down to make them fit and funny enough the same injectors came up forsale but with the plugs as well. But these plugs were pretty mint condition.

So took the old connectors out and new ones in, which was surprisingly easy.

Got some of the pipe work in and rest of the electrics in, hopefully manifold will be back tomorrow so I can fit the turbo as well.

Looking to run without a DV as don't like them as I was told that the md turbos can support dv delete... Well I hope so. Just need to find some dv blanking plugs from somewhere..

Got a little bit more done, brand new exhaust studs in manifold, lateral performance exhaust manifold in, rcm up pipe in, turbo in, oil and water feed in too. Also one blanking plugs in. Nearly finished. Hoping to get it mapped within a couple weeks now, but will have to see what else come up.

Got a little bit more done on the car today, new mats in (thanks to Matt23), pedals are actually in now, drivers side harness in, need to finish of passengerside, water pipes in, throttle cable in.

All pipes tightened up and intercooler pipes in.

Girlfriends little boy, teaching him the ropes, well he was showing me how it's done...

Bud when I started modifying my car I had no clue at all, I had never taken a car engine part before, it was a mixture of help from forums and just giving it a go.

Right car is now ready for Simon tomorrow morning, he will be putting a basemap on so I can make sure there are no issues. Fingers crossed.

Also managed to get the heater controls to fit properly and also made some custom brackets for the stereo to actually fit, as before it was just wedged in.. Thanks to my neighbor...

Well the car is filthy now as have clocked up 100miles with no issues. (Touch wood) thanks to simon absolute legend for coming out to me to do the base map, but I only think it was because of the bacon sarney, I do make a mean sarney.. .. Then drove upto dan at surrey subaru specialist to test and heli coil one exhaust stud, dan and john where great for squeezing me in at short notice.. So all go for Wednesday. Fingers crossed...

Well today did start off well but when I got home turned into a disaster. Made good power but turbo decided to give up when I got home.. Gutted!!!!

Sounds like the bearing has gone on the turbo. There is no smoke but it now does this..

http://i1221.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5a44fdd2.mp4

Wondering if there is a water or oil blockage to the turbo, have no clue how to find out but this is pretty much how the other turbo gave up too.. Wow I feel depressed..

But for the 1 hour it was working it was lovely..

Here is what it made, not that it counts now

Think it's time to get rid of the Scoob and buy something reliable

Cheers guys, sadly it's one of those turbos that can not be rebuilt. Well so I keep being told.

Right well today I snapped out of my sulk put the car back on axle stands and turbo is now out.

There was oil in the oil way when I took it off and there was water coming out of the water feed pipe, so from that side of things all is good. I will be shipping the turbo off to be assessed, not repaired. Defiantly bearing issue (even though I knew that before I took the turbo out)

Here is a couple vids of the turbo on and off the car, there is a little play in the shaft but when you spin the turbo you can hear the bearing. So wondering if oil restrictor was wrong.

Vid of turbo on the car

http://i1221.photobucket.com/albums/...psf0fccb48.mp4

Vid of turbo off the car

http://i1221.photobucket.com/albums/...ps8880b59e.mp4

Turbo Dynamics said they will assess the turbo for free and will ship it back to me to see if we can figure out if it was just coincidence as the turbo is just so old.

Well this is how things stand at present, turbo is apart, impeller cold side is fine luckily.

Compressor housing is fine and has been cleaned.

Failure was hot side cartridge which in below picture is the part at the back of the shaft away from impeller

In the below pic you can see where the hot side turbine was slightly touching the exhaust housing.

New Gt30 bearing kit on route, and also a slightly smaller exhaust housing is on the way with hot side turbine.

Right well yesterday went to 2 different rollers yesterday, my mate had his Integra DC2 mapped yesterday he made 466bhp, what a machine, took a while to map his and he had his boost by gear fine tuned, would of been over 500bhp but his injectors were running at 95% duty.

After that drove down to SRR to see Simon and Charlie, i was not going to bother with getting mine mapped as i have a header leak, it looks as if there is a hole in the collector, but i am going to stop spending on the car now due to some other things going on. But decided to talk myself into it and got the car mapped and was still very pleased considering the mani leak

Charlie and Simon said it has a lot more to give but the manifold was causing issues. It only made 396bhp but CJ the life saver herd me saying i wanted the 400bhp mark and came over to speak to Charlie as and said do one more run, but Charlie said it would make no difference, CJ lifted the bonnet for one last run and it made 406.2bhp.. With a exhaust leak......

Most importantly the car is still running and even though everyone says that it is really laggy i think it is fine for me.. I love it...

Really was starting to think whats the point in keeping the Scoob, but i remember why now!!! The car is amazing and even in the condition as of now.. I love it. Had someone actually stop me the other day just to have a look at the car.. And mine is nothing special at all..

Well Washed, clay bar'd, polished and waxed the old boy today. And now he is all tucked in.. First time i have used a clay bar before, bit scary but made sure he was well lubricated..

Cheers bud, car is still going touch wood. Just want to fix mani and get an exhaust system that is a little louder. Not too much. Debating on going back to standard mani but have it ported as the guy who rebuilt my turbo had over 470bhp out of it. But there are people that are saying that I will not really hit much.. but just want a manifold that is a bit more reliable.

Well it's been a while since I have started the old boy as been busy at work and my daughter is due in 4 weeks so quickly started him up and gave him a bath and clay bar..

Thought I would do a cheeky vid too.

Subaru Impreza Terzo, mild anti lag test (406bhp) - YouTube

Now all covered up for a bit until I can be bothered to jack the engine up and either repair manifold or replace

If you check post 80 its home made see link below for number plate.

http://www.southeastscoobies.co.uk/v...9&postcount=80

As far as engine mods to get that power
Fully forged
Wisco Pistons
Mahle Conrods
ACL Bearings
Forged billet crank
Sti 3 heads
BC Titainium Valve springs and ally retainers
Lateral performance headders (with added crack lol)
RCM turbo up pipe
Full 3 inc down pipe with open mouth
Walbro 255 fuel pump
Nismo 740cc injectors
Simtek ecu
MD321S Hybrid turbo with GT30 core

If you are going to run sort of 350bhp and above i would get a stronger gearbox diff and clutch. I went for the 6 speed sti box with matching rear diff so changed all hubs as well to fit Brembos all round.

The list goes on bud i could talk all day about the list, 8 years of DIY work and reciepts.

To bend the Ali brackets I used the edge of a work bench, a heat gun and a rubber camping mallet..

Questions 1. Where did you get your white hoses from as looking on some websites and are asking for a extra 35% on top of normal rice.
2. How did you manage to keep both fans as I had to remove the one on the right due to the pipe work would not fit .

I will have a look for the details for the hoses when i get home bud..

As for the IC pipes you dont want to know how i orginally got it to fit.. It involved g clamps and 2 blocks of wood.... Then found an easier way which is if you look at the pipe that leads to the throttle body there are 2 extra cuplers. I just cut the pip in 2 other places to allow movement..

Cheers bud, the scoop is 100% oem, want a scoop ideally that is the same hight as this one but extends further forward.
