Default Meet Location Suggestions

To help the Meets/events organiser to choose locations from a wider area, please add any locations that you feel would be suitable for our monthly meets.

The meets/events organiser will then have a larger amount of suitable locations to choose from.

Its great value for money but Sussex often seem to have their East meets there and i don't think we should visit the same place too often - part of the reason i think some members (well, certainly me ) are willing to travel to meets is to try out new places/pubs and see some new parts of Sussex

some good ideas there Worzel

The Treacle Mine at Polegate was a good pub and had a decent turnout last time we went there. The Cock Inn is also a great place for food but last time i went there it was a bit expensive (definately worth it for a nice evening out, but maybe a bit much for a meet?)

The Hop Farm is a good one.I have been there in the past with other car clubs loads of parking. They also have a large kids play area they do food but can not comment on that as i took my Sandwiches/Drinks with me I realy liked the Laughing Fish (Isfield) with the parking out the back i know the food is not for kid's but there is the steam trains there so if there is a meet there in the summer i would bring the kids along picnic by the car then ride on the train they would love it.

I have looked at this venue several times as a possible.
Trouble is they nearly always have an event of some description on.

Definitely one to bare in mind.

You are correct mate, big car park there too. It's a Brewers Fayre, so not top notch grub but not bad at the same token.

Box Hill is a good one. Huge car park at the top, with a food area & the famous Rykers cafe at the bottom

Not best winter time

The Fox & Hounds in Haywards Heath Has a pretty big carpark and does decent enough grub. It's a chain pub, but the prices are good and there's lots of space inside.

The Cock at Ringmer could be a nice one for the summer - it's usually got plenty of tables outside and space for kids to run around.

Are you sure you are looking at the brewer's fair Pub and not the actual hop farm itself.

Think we need more ideas from people over the west part of the county, all the suggestions are swaying towards east me thinks. If i was a drinker i'd be able to help out with a few suggestions, but not being a pub man i can't......sorry guys.

How about:
  • Fox goes free - Goodwood/Chichester
  • The Fox - Angmering on A27
  • The Woodmans - Angmering on A27
  • The old stables - Fontwell on A27
  • The Oystercatcher - Clymping/Littlehampton on A259
  • The spur - Slindon on A29
These are all far west of the region - in fact further west than the West Sussex meets!

It's what we need mate for sure. We can only arrange meets all over, if we have places to go to.

Fully agree with Box Hill, only trouble is often you can't get into the car park by Ryka's on a sunday as it is full of bikes.Possible Stepping stones at Westhumble.
Well to the west of the area I know but maybe our Littlehampton friends could confirm space- the Oyster Catcher pub on the Bognor road, just past Ford. Sunday morning be good one for this- Drop other halves at the Market and then down to the Pub after.
Smith and Western Horsham or the one on the top of Boxhill good but not for the faint hearted food wise- large portions.
The Round stone? between Littlehampton and Worthing- large carpark.
Dukes Head Beare Green - parking for about 25 cars max New people running it , will cater for Kids, dogs if on a lead and well behaved. A24 Dual Carriage way right outside

I'll pop up to Worlds End and the BLack horse soon for a nose about, I used to go to the Back horse quite a bit but that was before it was taken over. Parking at the Worlds End is very good (used to have Club GTi meets there) Black horse is a little tight.

Have heard that Bosham at the far South West reach of the area is a nice spot.
Done a quick search and come up with :
with reviews like :

"Probably the best pub on the south coast‎"
"This pub is great for a lovely summers evening, its has a nice patio out the front where the tide comes up to and out the back on the quaint high st a relaxing beer garden"

The Anchor Bleu High Street, Bosham, Chichester, West Sussex, PO18 8LS

Gotta be worth a look abnd could even be combined with a GoodWood Breakfast Club event

Just be careful parking at the anchor, unless your car floats that is!

Parking is in a pay and display down the road or on the small streets or in the harbour at low tide!
If people are happy to go that far there are lot's of nice places around Chichester/Goodwood and on the Harbour.

Not sure if this is too late - or to far East - but a couple more suggestions:

Grasshopper Inn, Westerham - TN16 2EU.
http://www.grasshopperinn.co.uk/

Not the cheapest pub, but really nice and has a huge car park. Quite a lot of events there, so you'd have to consult their calendar before everyone heads down there!

Oxted Inn, Oxted - RH8 9HR.

Cheap pub (its a Weatherspoons), but it backs on to a huge car park for the town shops. Always been very quiet when I've been that way on a Sunday.

Both of these are on/just off the A25, and so are pretty accessible from the motorway or other routes.

The good old "Arsegroper" would be a cracking venue.

As you say, a huge car park, easy to get to.

Seems a goody to me

Its only 10ish minutes from my girlfriends, so it would be ideal for me as well - would be great to have a meeting spot just down the road!

Another idea to add to the list.

Inn On The Pond, Nutfield (near Redhill) - RH1 4EU.

About the same price wise as The Woodman, similar size car park to The Woodman as well, but a slightly more central location, so perhaps better for those coming from East Surrey.

That looks like a great choice. It would get my vote for sure.

Listening to them talking at the meet on Saturday, they were talking about the next one in Surrey, this looks just the ticket
