Default Max bhp standard version 7

Hi,

I have a jdm version 7 bottom end in my classic and was wondering what is the safest max bhp i can run on standard internals ??

Safest would be standard power or less
Wrx good for 400 ish
Sti 500 ish
You mapp a car to get the most , when you get the most safest goes out the window !

Lol well you no what I mean max bhp without over stressing the engine
So 360 would be ok ?

360 should be fine on an STI lump, the failure level increases as you up the power and depends on the quality of the mapping, my engine let go at 370bhp but this was probably due to poor fuel and/or oil starvation due to not having a baffled sump.
350 starts testing the limits of the gearbox though!

Yeah gearboxes aren't the best iv heard.

I do have a sump baffle fitted and a modified 11mm oil pump.

think it was more likely you ragging it on the autobarn delimited bits , imprerza's dont like sustained high revs

What's a good temp for the oil to get to before you can put your foot down ?

I'm over cautious and don't open up fully until at at least 70, usually wait until 80 if I can. I think 60 or so is safe.

I run one as do most with highly modded cars especially if on track at all.
