Default Proposed Meet Zone

Now this may upset a few people but, the following is being proposed as the 'SES Meet Zone'.

Within this Zone suitable pubs/car-park/venues or scenic locations should be identified and suitable locations for 'SES Monthly Meets'.

Please note : 'EVENTS' & 'DAYS-OUT' can be suggested that fall outside of this zone i.e Nurburgring, Fairford Airshow etc..etc... , but these a special/annual 'EVENTS' & 'DAYS-OUT' and not to be confused or used instead of a 'MONTHLY MEET' (special dispensation may apply if considerable numbers are attending, were a clash of dates ocurr)

This has been put together in order to try and attract the maximum number of attendee's with the least amount of travel.

The 'SES Meet Zone' has been produced with a 50 mile diameter, based on a central location.

This central location takes into account :
1. Most westerly lat/long (approx : Havant/Chichester)
2. Most easterly lat/long (approx : Ramsgate/Margate/Broadstairs)
3. Most northerly lat/long (approx : Thames Estuarry)
4. Most southerly lat/long (Beachy Head)

The centre point of the 'Zone' ends up being Groombridge (Kent).

SES Monthly Meet Zone

Works for me, I always seem to be the furthest South West of all the people at the monthly meets, Even the Sussex meets are at Pease Pottage so some distance from me. There are a couple of good pubs etc.my way I'd like to suggest (Angmering area) but this is outside the zone suggested so I'll save those for Sussex!

See you all at JapBash (Can't make the next meet due to clash of dates).

Thank you BlueBugEye,
For your positive response.

This idea has been around for a week or so now.
As it says in the title this is proposed, not final.

The idea I have had is:
To have a meeting in the proposed zone for 2 consecutive months and on the 3rd month to have a meeting closer to the extremes of the SES area.
This would then rotate around the whole of SES region in turn.
But obviously it is hoped that members do try and get to as many meetings as possible.
There is no point in having meetings when only a few people turn up!!

I am proposing this to try keep everyone happy.

Sounds like a plan, we are lucky as we have the east sussex meet on our doorstep via sussex scoobies, and we do and try to make other meets on here but only if they are on a saturday as dont want to be driving too far as I work sunday nights.

Agreed though we should have a central meet location in the zone for us all to come to

Well done Scott

It makes perfect sense to me, we unfortunately will not be able to please all.

I like the idea of having orgainsed trips to the further flung areas of kent, Surrey, Hamps and Sussex.

I will happily make the effort to attend trips outside of the suggested meets zone, i have not been to many of the suggested places, eg Dover castle.

Big E
Keep up the dedicated effort you are making, its a thankless task, but is appreciated.

I think this central location is a great idea.....

.....hoooooweeeeveeerrrrr,
.....in the spirit of the variety/fairness, I see that the "Red Zone" covers 4 counties.
It might be nice if a difeferent county around the same area might be an option. As complicated as that is.
Also, who ever is arranging the meeting could photo copy a flyer for the next meet location/date.

Im happy to drive anywhere, as long as I can get the time off. I work in Retail, so I normally cant take Saturdays off, as its 45% of my business. Sundays I work 1 in 4, the opersit of saturdays. Hope that makes sense.

And my little one seems to be developing a liking for scoobs and evos, which cant be a bad thing ( evo's a little bad....)

Just a little.

But we could always have a special trip there.

Depending how much interest there is.

I for one would like to come and visit you.
