Default Fuel and octane booster

Hi chaps my trip is in couple of weeks , havnt been for 4 years and I know you guys have been very recently, is there any 97/99 fuel available now? I'm staying in Adenau for 1st time and unsure on fuel stations on the way to the circuit ?

Which octane addictive have people been using?

Cheers

we carry the likes of NF Race ("best") and also the Millers Ecomax that are both well performing and actually add something rather than some of the 'snake oil' that appears in Halfrauds, etc........

We usually stop on the E42 here each way:
https://www.google.com/maps/@50.6543.../data=!3m1!1e3

It's a Shell garage and the vPower is 98 ron, so fine unless you're mapped for 99. If so, just chuck a little octane booster in I usually use NF from Alyn.

Once in Adenau, the Aral sells 102 ron. Yum yum.

Cheers Steve . Just looked it all up so around 2hours from the track I guess I can use that to top up from getting fuel at home , then use ARAI garage for my ring trips I bet will cost a bit being 102ron. Then stop at the shell on route home

I did a quick splash and dash at the Shell at the services just before the tunnel. You need to pre authorise your card at the services in Belgium before they dispense fuel, otherwise you're stood looking like a lemon when the pumps don't work.

As I found out when I was just standing there waiting for the pump to start

Also by the time I got there I was very empty. May just be my stupid close ratio box.
But I did 2 full tanks just to get there. Think I did 10-11 tanks in total

Good shout, that always catches out a newbie

Especially as there's only two of the card machines and about 5 or 6 isles of pumps!

Neil must have been putting it in his beer or something, I never use anywhere near that much fuel!!

When you get to the Shell station, you have to pay at a card machine on the front of one of the pump aisles first. Put your card in and the instructions come up in English basically, enter the pump number you are using and then your PIN, then go fill up. When finished, drive off - no need to go inside to pay. Once you've done it once, its simple. Pretty much exactly the same as the pay at pump in the UK (card inserted first) but the machine is shared across a load of pumps, hence make sure you press the right pump number or you'll be giving someone else a freebie!

I've never had any problems

Take cash, go in to the cashier and pay in advance I normally pay 40 euro and that's enough to get you to Adeneau.

I probably had 1/3 of a tank by the time I filled up in Belgium and that tank got me there and did a lap. Filled up once in Adenau, once at the Shell in Cochem and then topped up in Belgium on the way back.

The Passat did there and back on a tank!!!!

Don't forget to have some coins for the toilets at the services.

Mines only got a little baby tank £40 to fill from empty.
Then 70 mph is 4000 rpm in 5 th so not the best fuel economy lol

Yeah, the one we quite often use in Cochem does. It's branded as VPower Racing - 100 ron
