The largest drag racing event outside America.

This is THE BIG ONE. Just ordered 10 tickets including grandstand seats and they still have some left.

Large field of Top Fuel / Pro Mod and being the closing event of The European Championship it will be hard racing all weekend.

Many of us are staying at the Weliingborough Premier Inn on Sat 10th to avoid the crazy queues on Sunday morning.

For those of you that haven't seen this bracket of racing forget everything you have ever seen or witnessed in motorsport.

This is as serious as it gets. Forget horse power, one of these things registers 2.5 on the richter scale, and thats is a fact.

Watching to Fuelers side by side (16,000 Bhp) cant be described. You need to witness it in real life.
0 to 100 mph in 0.8 of a second and achieving 300+mph in under 5 seconds.

Come up there on the 11th Sept , you will be talking about it for the following week

Just over 2 hours to get there. M1 junction 14 and about 30 minutes from there.








This is a Top Fuel starting.
They start the car on Methanol only (2000 bhp).
At 1.03 seconds in the video you will see the crew chief on the left reach over and activate the Nitromethane. It's then running at 8000 Bhp.
A typical start up like this costs just over £ 800 in fuel alone. They use between 14 & 16 gallons on a quarter mile run.

Went to Santa Pod a few years back, did`nt understand why loads of people in the crowd had headphones on at the start line till I heard the top fuellers leave the start line unforgetable.
Should be on everyones top ten things to do IMHO
