Just drove past about half hour ago. Very bad. But to be fair since they closed Burger King down the pier went downhill anyway. Hopefully they will build it back up bigger and better, and with a Burger King.

Very sad.
I didn't care much for Hastings pier when it went up in smoke as it was better off burnt to the ground due to the diabolic condition it was left to fall into.
Eastbourne pier was very different and such a shame to see especially so close to Airbourne their biggest event of the year.

Hope when they rebuild it they get rid of that arcade that took up the biggest building. Return it to some sort of Victorian type pier .

Agreed. It could have a much better use these days. Just hope it gets restored quickly.

I'm amazed that arcades still turn enough of a profit these days to justify their overheads, when every kid has video games at home..... surely a bar/cafe would make a lot more profit in a location like this if it gets rebuilt?

A lot of revenue is taken from the 2p/5p penny fall machines. You would be surprised how many people use them, especially those with young kids. A £1 of 2p's lasts a little while.
I've been known to pile a few 2p's through there with the boyz.
