Default Fuel Pumps
Following a little hiccup yesterday I'm going to wack a new fuel pump in the old girl, after all it is 16 years old now and for the cost of a replacement it's a lot cheaper than an engine rebuild. Looking around there's not much in price between Walboro 255, Scooby worx SWRD 290 and the RCM 340 but that's probably slight overkill for a standardish car.

Any nightmare stories about the Walboro alternatives although I see CJ mentioned a dodgy batch of 255s the other day.

Cheers guys, could be an expensive call as it's due a service and a gearbox and diff oil change wouldn't go amiss. Also got an ABS sensor gone on the civic, bloody cars.

Only from what I read on internet, but i haven't put an uprated one in the RB5 yet as i am led to believe that the stock fuel pressure regulator has trouble with uprated pumps on the classic. Might be worth asking for advice, as i would certainly like to put one in mine to be safe.

Spoken to Alyn and have a 255 on the way, he's only had a problem once with a failing regulator and reckons it should be fine.

cool, i'll have to sell my nearly new 255 pump to get a classic one, RB5 is going to be a bit more rapid over winter

I've got a spare regulator if you need one although they are a PITA to change in situ.
