I joined yesterday and was also thinking that there are plenty of other newbies. I joined up to SN and SIDC, I find SN is great for getting quick responses but lacks the club feel, whilst SIDC is the slowest forum I have ever been on, no one seems to respond or comment on threads. I am hoping this will be what I am looking for, a busy forum with a genuine club feel

I know what you mean mate. I'd still turn up at meets even if i ever sold the scoob - its an excuse to go to the pub for a chat with a decent bunch of folk

I found the SIDC very slow and left a few years back.

SN is too big to be a close community and also contains many Muppets.
Many kids on there that come out with crap like WR1's are a nice colour, stupid Bhp comments and such like.

Good diverse bunch of friendly guys in this club including many with good knowledge of mechanics, good organisers, then you have some that give a bit of banter, filtering down to guys like Nige that has no life, no friends or indeed a Subaru, but have pet goldfish and find comfort within forums such as this.

That's the great attribute about The SES. We don't care, ......... all are welcome.

Brilliant! Looking forward to getting to know the club and the banter, certainly wont be renewing my SIDC membership. Are there any other members from around Berkshire? I consider that to be South East but it seems most members are much further south or much further east!

Second that. Sn is to big a club with quite a few muppets. And from what I gather there all pretty normal on here. Haven't been taken the mickey out of for any questions I've asked . But I do feel like I'm the only one from the dartford area one here despite the huge amounts I see everyday.
