Not heavy in Hastings but the road out to Battle was just a sheet of nice, there was no way I was attempting the Netherfield road so working from home, didn't look like the roads had been treated at all.

Crawley's been a nightmare this morning, complete gridlock. A23 from Bolney northbound was stuffed apparently so everything took to the local roads.

Took me 1 hour to do about a mile and a half. Had enough of the snow!

Agree and you know why.....the depot is at the bottom of the biggest hill in town.

I've just got in. 1st gear crawl down A2100 then traction control OFF and nailed it up to A21 straight over the roundabout making the most from the other stationary traffic and into my road. Sorted......

Left work at 4 to beat the worst of the traffic and got home ok, but just spent the last hour refitting the rear windows in the scoob under the garage up-and-over door (trying to keep the snow out of the car whilst doing it ). If this freezes overnight, i'm not taking the mondeo tomorrow!

Hastings is defo a Nightmare.!. Pretty much every main road is in a bad way and gridlocked. It took missues over and hour to get home from School, and had to dodge a taxi doing a 360 spin in the road, stuck behind bus that couldn't go forward and had to have a push to get her going at on point herself.

Audi was spot on with its Quattro but no legislating for stuck traffic in front or other road users slidding out of control. Depending what happends tonight, might even leave the Audi at home tomorrow and get the walking boots out.

Already decided I'm working from home, abandoned the Passat in little ridge avenue when everyone had ground to a halt and walked home.

Well we have just got in after my mercy mission in the 1.

6.5 hours for the Mrs to get home, and a trip to Lepsons required..

Ended up having to go up a hill crab fashion not happy, the back end just slid down the camber of the road..

It got even worse as it got dark. From the local facebook new pages and what info is coming from twitter, it sounds like there's still hundreds of cars stuck on the A23 at Pease Pottage that haven't moved in 5 or 6 hours. Nowhere for them to go.

Just unbelieveable, its not that much snow really.

Ian - sorry to hear about the wheels. I also had to get the scoob out to go and rescue the wife this evening!

Cheers Steve, luckily it is only the one rim on the rear near side, very light impact but its taken the paint of half way round the rim, no spoke damage...

Sounds like I got lucky. Left City Place at six pm, the Ring Road by the airport was bad, but then the M23 North was quieter than normal and travelling at normal speed.

Glad to hear people are safe and sound!

Crikey sounds like some of you had it really bad on the roads yesterday.
Reports on the news today repeating what`s already been said. M23 only 1 lane at the mo, A23, M20 issues?

Glad everyone eventually made it home

Today I`m off so no worries for me, Liz is out in the Disco so should be ok but as you say its the other users that are the problem.

As said by Steve_ ppp `Ian - sorry to hear about the wheels`

Got In. At 11. 23. Couldn't get out of car park do waited until 7 to leave. Got to the dolphin pub at 9. People were dumping cars at the harvester pub and other people refusing to go around! A23 blocked. Alborne was very slippy. Hit an island and Drove car into wall in hassocks when i drove through the second time! from the bridge before the pyecombe bridge, it was stationary traffic as far as eye could see both ways. But not going north. But hand criss hill was the same. Clayton hill was a disaster. So I did a u turn and some how got through country small dole. But took a risk with the hills. Land rover with no lights nearly hit me.I had a lot of fun.

There isn't any sign of snow at all here, not even any ice... It's mad to hear what some of you had to deal with yesterday
