Default Zunsport grill questions.

On previous car, an '03 Blobeye GX sport, I installed a lower mesh grill that simply clipped in.

I like the look of them, so have bought a set for my current '02 Bugeye WRX... however, this version requires me to drill holes into the bumper, which I'm not too keen on doing as it's in a great condition.. also lacks the clips the previous grill had. The only difference is this a full grill that covers the plastic shroud under the plate and not just the inlet.

Is there any size difference in the lower rad inlet on the bumper for a bug and a blob?
And would a lower zunsport grill for a blobeye fit a bug?

Am I making sense?

The bug/blob grills are completely different shapes so the parts are not interchangeable i'm afraid.

You will need to drill 3 small pin holes in the bumper to fit, otherwise there's nothing to hold the base of the grill in place and it will just flap about. You'll also need to screw into the black plastic shroud at the top to hold it in place, although the two centre screws are hidden behind the number plate. A bit of black paint on the outer screws and they disappear from sight unless you look really closely.

If your front plate is stuck on, worth changing to screw fixings so it can be removed easily without having to re-do the number plate tape! (You'll want to remove the grill fairly often to clean behind it!)

Whilst it seems nuts drilling the bumper, they're tiny holes and not really noticeable. Worth it for the look:

Thanks and that does look awesome

I did think it was different dimensions, but thought it was safer to ask and make sure!
I'll just have to get on with it and drill those holes, as you say - it's worth it for the look.

As for cleaning, my plate is fixed on with screws, so no problems there.
