getting there !
Its starting to do my head in !
Went to surrey rollers today and saw simon again . Got a bit more and a bit better but still missing at 6k boost or no boost ! got 420/420 though at 1.35bar so getting happier Any thoughts ?

Are you running vernier pulley's as could be bad cam timing.
if it's doing it wth and without boost it is unlikely to be plugs or injectors as the airflow would be different and the IDC less. could be the crank/cam sensors are a bit dodge and failing at 6,000rpm.

Even with all you've done, I would go for the easy things first.
First thought was a plug blowing itself out, replace or regap them or just switch them around and see what happens. The forced air issue Scott mentioned is interesting and very probable if the issue isn't there on the road.

 Now this has come from my DadDo you use a lightened fly wheel? try changing for an original or slighlty heavier fly wheel!  (  something to do with rotational mass)(if hes right  )

hmmm the dreaded misfire, mine happens at 6.5k but only in 3rd or 4th, did a track day at Snetterton and for the first 2 laps of each session it seemed OK but once i got a bit of heat into the car it would start again
I changed the plugs but that made no difference, had a suggestion to gap them smaller but that made it run like a dog lol Simon did come round the other day and adjusted a few things, the dwell on the coil-packs, he turned down the sensitivity of the crank sensor or cam sensor (can't remember which), he also adjusted the way these 2 sensors interact with each other at high rpm Took the car out the other night and did about 6 runs going from 4k up to 7.5k in 3rd and never got a misfire (couldn't try it in 4th though as that works out about 125mph)

the ecu's both standard and simtek logged cam errors...
it occurred only on the dyno due to more engine heat.. you can repeatedly do a run rather than wait for a break in traffic, turn around etc.. but it is not right that it should do this. Suggested grounds which appear to have resolved it. Think about fans and airflow meters and ram air.. ie. at 6k rpm do you think the fan will be flowing faster air at the filter than the engine is consuming?? deffo not. Simon

Dont take offence Simon.
You will always get this mapper is better than that mapper We know all you guys are petrol heads and have pride in what you do. You all have diferent methods and approach to what you do. Dont envy you guys,loads of hard work can all be undone by a single engine blow,lets face it its always the mappers fault and not the owners. Keep up the good work guys.

As Martyn says Simon, don't take offence at all.
As is the case with my scooby, it is a process of elimination. And only by going through the various steps along the way with you am I getting to where I want to be. Scott, like yourself is a very good mapper and a lot of people swear by and stick with him. And that's all it is really mate. Just a random comment.
