Default Prosport gauges - please help - have I been ripped off?

Hello all,

Any help here will be greatly appreciated.

I have just taken delivery of 3x Prosport Stepper gauges: boost, oil pressure & oil temp that I bought from a guy off of SN and I'm starting to get that nasty feeling that my £160 has been horribly wasted...

They were sold as working and were already mounted in an ATI center pod and I went ahead and bought a couple of fitting kits from Scoobyparts in anticipation of having them fitted this Saturday.

Anyway, the gauges have come as shown in pictures, no extra wiring no nothing. And a snapped mounting clip

Gauges:

Fitting kit that I bought:

Can anybody tell me which bits I am missing and if possible where I can get them from?

You are missing sender box and boost hose for the boost gauge mate, also the wires that run from the gauges to the engine bay (the ones in the pack look too short) If you are going to the Brighton meet on Saturday (and i manage to make it down) I can have a look for you, I have just fitted my prosports so can have a look under the bonnet

Same as guy said, plus I am sure mine have a third lead which loops all three gauges together, so they all start up and close in sync

The ones in the packs are the boost hose thing that you tee-off from the dumpvalve and I now presume feeds the sender that is missing, the other pack is the oil temp/pressure that I do not know which sender they feed into..

I wont be able to get to Brighton this Sunday as we have plans - the missis does anyway..

Thanks for the feedback so far

I think the only wires that are here are the ones that link the gauges in series - they are way too short for anything else.

I am thinking of buying new gauges from Xyber Autos as they will come with everything but this is very far from ideal.

Cheers

You need the sensors for oil temp and pressure - plus the wires to go from them from the engine bay to the sensors - also a power lead for the first of the gauges (the rest are daisy chained).

So I have the power lead thanks for Bigemp I have found where I can get the boost sender and oil pressure sender.

Any ideas what sender I need for the oil temperature, what wires I need/where I can get them from to run from the senders to the back of the gauges? I need some of those little white plugs as well..

Of all the websites I have found that sell the gauges and senders etc, even Prosport themselves, none sell wire kits or plugs? Does this imply any normal leccy wire can be used?

Thanks

Thank you for all of the links you sent me, big help - feel a bit dumb not being able to find the "wires" lol next time I'll remember "harness"...

I found some all of the bits on the Prosport site in the end - more expensive but I'd rather know they are all coming at once and stuff.

Here is my shopping basket:

Premium series Oil or Water Temp Harness

Premium series Boost Harness(Gauge to sender)

Premium series Oil Pressure Harness

Electric Boost Sender

Temperature Sender

Does that all look like the right stuff?

Might have to wait till next month at this rate! I'm so glad that I can get these wires though, I was worried!

Cheers

Ps Sorry for not replying to the PMs I work nights and had to leave

Update - the guy has just sent me a PM over on SN, he says that he thought he told me at the time that he was waiting for his mechanic to strip the wires etc but that it could have been someone else he told as he was getting a lot of calls and stuff that day.

Anyway he says when this happens he will forward the rest of the bits on so I shall wait with my fingers crossed and carry on getting excited about having the gauges fitted!!

I feel so much better now Thank you all for your help, info and stuff it made me realise what a great community this is over here on SES. Awesome!

I've got a few bits and bobs left over from when I fitted mine, if you come up short let me know or if you need any info on fitting as I fitted the oil temp and pressure myself.

I might ring him tomorrow, thing is with ringing is if he turns out to be a genuine rip-off, I'll be left with that impotent telephone rage where all I can do is swear at him while he laughs or worse hangs up.. do I need that..

Then again he might just be forgetful. On his car ad over on Piston heads he says he is moving to the States - I guess he wont be worried about bad feedback or home visits! My heart sunk a little when I read that.
