Hi,

I'm Nick from Club MSV.

I've just had a quick read through this thread and it all looks very positive with lots of people interested. Also with the added bonus of the photoshoot it should be a great evening.

There are a few questions/points that have been raised that I can answer for you.

The noise limit for the evening will be 98db static. This will be tested at 75% of the maximum rpm of your vehicle with the meter being held at 50cm and 45 deg from your exhuast. Most standard vehicles should be fine with this (even some modified vehicles are as well so don't completley count it out!) If anyone would like a free noise test done before booking/attending please feel free to call me on the number below to arrange. (This can be done at any MSV circuit)

If you have any other queries please post them as I will check back every so often, but if there is anything specfic you need to know please give me a call on the number below.

Thanks,

Nick Rice

Hmm...think 98dB may be the sticking point here.
I know my car and Keiths are very close to this limit.
Keiths was actually 98 and mine 97dB when measured down at Goodwood.
And as many of you would be aware ours are certainly not the loudest cars of the bunch.

This would need to be addressed or a serious re-think would be required.

With that sort of db are we paying in advance or on the day? As i think alot of people are going to be over the db range

Ok guys.

Nick has e-mailed me with an alternative date where we can run up to 102 DB, so that should make things a lot easier.

Martyn has got a DB meter so I suggest we make the effort to try and get together somewhere and have a test. It will save a lot of potential hassle later on.

The e-mail Nick sent is as follows:

Thanks for giving me access on the forum. I posted yesterday afternoon in response to a couple of queries.

I think that the 98db noise limit we have to run on the 21st April evening might be a bit of a struggle for some of your members so I have put Monday 19th April on hold for you as we can run to 102db on this evening. This is the higher noise limit for our evening events and would be a safer bet.

The format and price will be exactly the same but just with a higher 102db noise limit. Could you put something on the forum explaining the option I have some up with? This should be a really good evening so hopefully with the higher noise limit we will be able to include more of your members.

Please feel free to call on the number below or pop me an email if you need any further information.

Kind Regards
Nick Rice

Makes sense to go with the 102db on Monday 19th April in my opinion, would be a shame to find some of us get there not knowing how loud our cars are and have to sit out!

Monday is ok with me, but I agree with Steve, it would be good to meet up with a meter, although I think most will be comfortably under 102db?

Hi,

I have reserved you two sessions (18:20/19:00) on Monday 19th April where we can run to 102db. This will hopefully allow for more of you to attend and enjoy the evening. All the details are exactly the same including the photoshoot on circuit which is pencilled in for 17:00

I have also set up two exclusive links for you to use to book your session. There is also a full evening available if anyone fancies that instead. There are 20 places in each session available. If there are places still available by Tuesday 6th April they will be put on general sale (with this in mind it might be worth trying to fill the session at 18:20 first).

Track Day Taster Sessions:
18:20 - www.clubmsv.com/ses1820
19:40 - www.clubmsv.com/ses1940

Full Evening - http://cmsvbooking.motorsportvision....ProductID=6064

I know there were a couple of you that said you had done 3 or 4 previous track events, but I am happy for you to book as you will be in an exclusive session.

If you have any queries please feel free to contact me.

Thanks
Nick Rice

What happens if we book a place but are to loud??... I presume the answer is 'tough luck'!

Totally understand rules are rules but I don't want to miss out on this but equally don't want to loose out if I pay up and then can't get out on track

Thats why we need a get together sooner rather than later, with Martyn and his DB meter.

We'll get this arranged maybe in the next couple of weeks or something?

I agree - whilst i'm sure my cars less than 102db, i'd still like to know how loud it actually is. Maybe a mini-meet at Dunnings Mill as its fairly central?
