If we're going to get snow, it looks like its due tonight/tomorrow morning.

I'll give MSV a bell tomorrow lunchtime to see if they've had anything at Brands (and if so, how much, likelihood of cancellation etc).

Gary - will call you tomorrow as well

well worse case scenario is that its cancelled - MSV will refund or transfer the booking to another date where possible.

Moley's said that the track insurance through him is refundable with a letter from ClubMSV to prove it was cancelled, so not majorly out of pocket.

We'll just have to wait and see i guess (he says, as it starts to snow in Burgess Hill )

Agreed.

Just spoke to someone at ClubMSV and they said they were going to go and take a look at the circuit in the next hour or so - and all people registered for the sessions will get an email shortly after to let them know if its happening or not.

Just have to keep an eye on the old mailbox now, but my guess is it'll be cancelled.

Yep, its officially cancelled

Those people who were booked will have received an email with a credit note to the same value (£75, plus any extras that were booked at the same time).

SES will be organising the event for another date in the future when the snow has gone - hopefully if its slightly warmer then we'll get a few more numbers as well.

Thanks to those who comitted to coming along

Other things to note:
- The person at ClubMSV i spoke to said the discount vouchers will be valid for a year.
- You should be able to phone them to get a letter of cancellation to try and get a refund on any trackday cover you may have purchased.

lol, yeah not surprised! Facebook seems to be full of people having nightmare journeys round London - by road and train! No more snow round here at the moment - only an inch or two in burgess hill! don't know what all the fuss is about

We'll sort out another Brands trackday for sure soon

Thats a serious ****ter mate!

I saw the thread on s/net about peoples journeys around M25/Croydon/Purley and the whole areas just looks screwed. Can't believe how much snow you must have had up there - when there's less than 2 inches in mid-sussex!

I dumped the car in Cheam after 2.5 hours and got the train (another 4.5 hours)

My mate is stuck on the A217, and has done less than a mile in 7 hours, so looks like i did the right thing.

Yep, i saw the January dates when i looked yesterday.

Currently thinking it might be wise to learn from the last experience and aim for March (or Feb at the earliest?). Last year we still had two heavy doses of snow in January, i have a feeling we haven't seen the last of it for this winter yet!

cheers Gary, completely missed that

Will have a look, seems a good idea to group up with a lot of other scooby owners

Assume they've got it booked as an exclusive SIDC thing though, its not showing as an open session on the MSV site.

Yep, it's a closed event just for the SIDC and MLR (so Nige should do it aswell!!!)

Will be lots of Evo's to play with.

Last year there were a few GTR's from the GTROC out there aswell

What would be better from a Novice point of view for a Trackday with the same brand or simular like the EVO be better or loads of other branded cars etc?

Fun factor I mean not whos got the biggest cock on the day etc.

My first track day was with the SIDC/MLR.

They have some VERY good instructors there on the day, and from looking at the MLR thread there are a few first timers going out.... so you won't be alone.

Doing a full day like this means you have no time pressure to get out there, as you have all day to pick and choose when you go out.
