Default SES - Barcombe Meet : Sat 27th July from 12:00pm

SES have secured the use of The Anchor at Barcombe Mill to hold a club meet.
This venue has to be one of the best located pubs in the South East right on the River Ouse and therefore also has Boat Hire, Ice Cream kiosk and plenty of outside seating.

Overnight camping will also be an option with a full bar and bar food tariff available in the evening. It is hoped a Full English will also be available Sunday morning.

Originally this was to be a BBQ but this required upfront payment and could work out expensive for a family.
Therefore we have had a change of plan whereby you can pick/choose how much you want to spend, eat, drink and row boats during the day.

SATURDAY 27TH JULY, FROM 12:00PM

Lovely pub this, perfect for this kind of event. Boating looks a good laugh and food is excellent so expect the BBQ to be top notch

Agree, have eaten there twice now and both meals have been superb.
This is a popular venue with many weddings etc.. throughout the year, hence why the catering is 100%.

We have managed to secure the 'Only' Saturday left in their calendar this summer.

We will be reviewing the BBQ menu and price structure when we get it next week. This is likely to be anything from a basic burger (if the Chef will agree to do such basic fayre) to full-on Steaks and sides.

Hi Lee,

Yes, South East Scoobies organised the Japbash event at Bentley in recent years. It didn't happen last year for various reasons but this event is going to be of a similar relaxed nature.

Its a work in progress at the moment as we only visited the pub last night to discuss options and we're still working on the finer details regarding possible size/numbers (we think there'll be a numbers limit but not sure what it'll be yet) but I'm sure the SkylineOwners club would be more than welcome as you've always done a great job of supporting Japbash in the past

Scott (Silversurfer) on here is discussing details with the venue and you can PM him (or me) any time

Just a heads up having been out there today..lovely place!! theres no hope at all that you will get any thing with a splitter or lowerd into that field fellas. due to the state of the uneven ground in the entrance i tried and nearly lost the splitter.there was a standard wrx that did just make it in though.

Alright Munk we're aware the field entrance is currently rather uneven. When we went up there on Friday evening, it looked like they'd previously levelled the soil and put that grass-matting stuff (big green plastic grids) down in places but assume it was done a while ago and needs re-doing after the rather wet winter we've had. We'll mention it to the venue, as we can't have anything low struggling to get in, thats for sure

Updated as this will now no longer be a BBQ, due to pre-payment being required.

The costs were not bad considering the proposed quality of BBQ provided, but we felt it would be difficult to collect such funds and/or convince people this isn't the average BBQ.
Maybe we can do this next time once people have sampled the venue/food.

They seem to of sorted the entrance out to some degree when I was last there. We may also use the other car park depending on numbers.

The BBQ was dropped due to costs and also having to pre-pay.
No doubt it would be a great BBQ, not your average burger in a bun, but we would struggle to obtain the funds and commitment from everyone.
Therefore, we decided to revert to standard pub grub / bar menu.

The row or walk up the river was very popular with people when I was there 3 weeks ago, and looks like a great laugh.
