I'll be coming down for about 9am, no point in getting there at the same time as everyone doing the driver briefing/noise testing if only going to spectate

I think it's only fair that I go through the payment and base it on the dates received.

The order 1 - 10 above is only the order that people decided to go, not the order in which they committed. Therefore I believe that those taking part should be based on financial commitment.

Apologies but the organisers have limited us to 4 tickets (8 split tickets) due to being a popular event, which TBH was the original agreement.

CANCELLED - Refund Pending

I have just received notification from Harwoods, via email, that they have over-subscribed on the August 29th Trackday and all of our places (x4 full day) are being refunded.

I am very disappointed and I need to have time to think how I respond.

Apologies to all those that have paid to attend and all those that were going to attend as spectators. But the decision was out of my hands.

I hope to post an update later.

That's really poor from Harwoods

This is the 3rd trackday this year they've run at Goodwood so they know the format and how many cars they can run. Smells a bit if you ask me....

Cor, that's a bit of a shocker on their part!

I'm sure it's in the letter of the contract and all that, but to simply oversubscribe and ditch folk is certainly not in the spirit of these things.

You're right to take your time to respond Scott. I can imagine anything drafted today could be, understandably, a bit vitriolic!

Your not too far from the truth there Si.

In the end yesterday, shortly after my notification of Cancellation above, I did call both Harriett and Abi at Harwoods and the bottom line is they are being forced to free up space for Harwoods Dealer group customers.
Their hands are tied and we are not the only group/individual that has lost their slot.

I did explain that some members had already paid out for insurance and hotel accommodation, but they reiterated the above and that it was out of their hands.

We have been offered priority places on the Trackday 10th October, so I would hope that those with insurance/hotel bookings may be able to move them to the alternative dates, if indeed they want to take part.

Harwoods are not your average car dealership, with franchises in Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, Jaguar, Land Rover, Jeep and Mini.
They also have a Harwoods members club, heritage club and horse racing club. So organise quite a few events through the year.

All I can assume is that the 'Powers that be' have made a decision regarding supporting their customer/member base, in favour of non-customer/members. The girls were then given the unfortunate task of implementing it.

If anyone wants to switch to the October date, then please advise.
If anyone wants to join the October date, then please also advise although the original 8 will have priority.

Feel sorry for those delivering that message!

That's not how I'd run my business. Yes, they have some prestige brands, so probably some demanding existing customers, but you don't just **** on people. Anyone could be a potential customer.
