Default 200sx s14a window

Hello all

As some of you know I had a stress crack on my front window over the weekend in Germany,
Slowing working it's way from the passenger side, across the window.

I phoned my insurance company Wednesday, paid 75 pound and have been waiting to be booked in.......

Well they contacted me and they don't make the front window anymore!

Aparrently this is the norm for old cars (not just Datsuns)

A company out there somewhere is making me one, put I'll have to wait 12 weeks.

Luckily I'm waiting for the window surround from nissan, which is coming from Japan, as nissan UK don't stock this.

Joy of modern classic ownership. At least it held together for the trip.

That's a pain... it'll be right across the screen in 12 weeks
Guess it all comes down to supply and demand, not a common car is it....

12 weeks! Let's just hope that is an estimate that covers the worst case and that they get it made up sooner. I had never considered that a car windscreen wouldn't be manufactured any more, but it's like most replacement parts for older cars, they can't keep stocking these things forever.

That sucks . But I know the r32 skyline windows are almost impossible to get anymore. Maybe a Nissan thing

I wondered if it would go across the window, but it did stop halfway.

When my supra needed a screen , I had to wait to get one from
Germany as apparently Toyota had a main hub for Europe there..

Sorry for the long reply, just got my new phone up and running today.
Had my window done last weekend, yes funny 12 weeks!
They phoned to say they found a new one at another window company, with new Nissan surround (result)
All fitted and I'm happy again.

Nice one - 12 weeks would have been a bit of a bore.
