Default Installing a Wallbro 255

I am just installing a wallbro 255 fuel pump and was wondering i should remove the rubber at the bottom as it does not seem to be very secure.
Also should i use any zip ties to secure the pump or is petrol too corrosive?

the Walbro uses its own specific sized rubber locator..............

why dont you just slide the pump down a bit to hold it in place, i dont think mine came with a different rubber foot, but in fareness it was about 5 years ago I did mine

i will have some spares, as CJ states they come in brand new kits and aren't as expensive as peeps think.............
