Default Hazard Lights

While cleaning the dashboard I knocked the hazard lights on and noticed they didn't work. Does anyone know if there's a separate flasher unit for the hazards or does it use the same one as the indicators which work fine. If it's a shared unit I'll check the wiring to the switch before I go any further.

Are you sure it was the hazards?
May seem stupid but I know some people to think the parking light switch is the hazards

It's not stupid at all, I actually realised it wasn't the hazard lights about 10 minutes after I posted this when i was searching for a second hand switch and couldn't see any that looked the same, I was hoping no one would answer and then it would be forgotten lol

Ok, nothing more to see here, move along.

Shane I've done the same thing in a rush, jumped out the car flicking the side light switch on when parked at a cash point and whilst looking back at the car realised what I had done. I guess I'm used to pushing my hand through the wheel in old Skool fords.

I was just wiping a cloth over the steering column shroud and knocked it on and realised it didn't do anything, stupid thing is I've used the hazard lights to check the indicators so I know where the stupid switch is, what a pillock lol

Thanks though Rich, makes me feel better knowing I'm not the only one

Interesting though the parking light switch does not switch on the number plate lamps.
I had an MOT years ago and they used that switch to turn on and check the side lights.
They then failed it on the number plate light which actually worked fine if you had the side lights switched on in the normal manner.
