Default Sat 10th Dec - SES Trip to RCM (Roger Clark Motorsport)

After Admin had a recent trip to RCM to have their cars fettled, the idea was floated amongst Admin/Event Organisers for a dedicated SES trip to RCM.

Thanks to Pieman & Worzel for doing the ground work, Olly Clarke has agreed to open up on Saturday 10th, exclusivley for SES.

Venue : Roger Clarke Motorsport http://www.rogerclarkmotorsport.co.uk/
Locaton : Hinckley, Leicester, LE10 3BY
Date : Saturday 10th December
Time : 10:00am - 3:00pm

It is expected that Olly & Matt will be there to show us around the various projects and of course the ledgendary 'GobStopper'.

Oh! and as it's nearly Christmas, why not treat yourself to some goodies while there and save the missus the postage costs

10% discount on any purchases made on the day.....

Worzel and myself used just under a tank full each on our last journey and that was for the whole trip

Well worth it too

Fantastic news. I would LOVE to get my exhaust done there, but will have to see on funds and no doubt they will need some notice. Also, its how safe it is to drive back without the map being tweaked to allow for the decat etc...

Olly will honour all Purchases and bookings for work taken on the day so if you purchase exhaust on the day and book in for fitting and mapping, your discount will be honoured

Hoping to do this one - need to check funds closer to the date though as it's a hell of a way from the coast!

Any chance they'll have time to do a compression/leak down test?

CJ / Worzel

Yes I will be very glad to get the thing back

I've either been driving Hev's Audi or one of the work vans.

A member of the P1Woc even offered to lend me his RA until mine is finished.
The cool thing about that offer is that I have never met the guy ! lol.

Nope leak down - kind of a reverse compression test, air is pumped into the bores via the spark plug hole and then the time it takes to leak out recorded, you also get an indication of where it's going (listen for it coming out) so you get an idea of what's buggered! e.g. if it comes out the intake it's the inlet valves, exhaust is exhaust valves and crank breather is piston related.

Huh, I understand what you are saying now :. .. I know what a leak down test is but that was done 2 months ago and the new engine is well on it's way and in hand.

The compression test revealed a - 90% on one chamber so pistons, rods, valves and other bit are being replaced (all the same as their own GS1 apart from my Omega pistons are slightly different to their Omega's as I dont run race fuel.

New crank is required as trust bearing was showing wear.

It will be 2.2 Ltr instead of the 2.0 it was before

Sorry Clive, crossed wires, was thinking of getting them to do one on mine to look at the issues with the oil leak!
