Default DVLA

hi all i swapped my bmw 330 for my scoob back on halloween 2012, the fella was a supposed trader and said to me at the time nothing had to be signed for on the logbook as it will be done when sold to a new owner, just received a tax reminder for the bmw! i cant get hold of the bloke its a nightmare! i dont have his address either it wasnt written on receipt, any ideas on what i can do? everyvthing ive read online states it needs the blokes address!! any help would be great cheers! also his name isnt on the logbook as a previous cheers

even if he was a trader you should have filled in and sent the red "trade" section off to DVLA...............

write to them explaining you no longer have the car and date of sale

as above, write to the DVLA and tell them when you sold the car and to whom.
if the new owner registers the car and you have not told the DVLA, you will get a fine (Just like the person I bought my current scoob from did) even if you filled in the documents and they just got lost in the post.
As far as the DVLA is concerned, it is your responsibility as the seller to notify them of the sale of the car.
