I have a GC8C48D 94 import WRX.

while i was re-gapping my sparkplugs at the weekend, i noticed i have a filler bottle down between the battery and NS headlamp which says "Coolant"
my radiator filler is near the power steering pump, so whats this other bottle for ?

Yep, it's the expansion bottle

The coolant expands when hot so flows into the "overflow" bottle in the wing by the battery. When the engine cools it sucks the coolant back so the system is always full

I never check the level of this bottle, not even sure if you need to.
I always check the header tank, if it's near full it's good enough for me.
Been Driving Scoobs for 9 years and never touch that bottle.
