Default My new toy for time being.

So decided I wanted to build a sensible B-road/track car.
will see the Ring once a year and just local events on some occasions, So after looking around and trying to keep cost down I opted for 206 gti 180 or a RS. I viewed the a pug fairly local but was rubbish, but also so 5 mins away was a 182. The car boasted its service history, and 2 owners from new, but was sitting on some very nasty Ebay 17s. which kept putting me off the advert..
So I decided to look at the car, turns out was owned by a slightly older gentleman for the past 8 years. the car was in great condtion and the reason for the horrid wheels was from OEM wheels scuffed and tyres low so was cheaper to buy the ebay horrors.
I bought the car there and then, I have no pic of it on the wheels as couldn't bare to to take one lol.
Here she is on some perfect condtion standards. so here is the base model to start this project bought 14 days ago!

now the car had good service and cambelt along with dephaser all taken car of,
Me being anal I decided if i'm going to do this right I best make sure everything is running at 100% out,
I have replaced the plugs, leads and coil with all Renault new ones,
oil and filter,
ditched the pipercross fitted (YUK) Oem airbox now on.
Sorted the headlights as looked like a dirty fish bowl.
ordered new Renault water pump. aux belt, power steering switch as mines got small wheep, dog done mount and ~Type D coolant.

Some 205/45/16 NS2-R tyres

French Flag and Fabia skirt fitted.

The car came with a milltek cat back but was sitting to low so I replaced all the exhaust mounts.

still sat the same.
So ive decided to order Non res center section, and decat again milltek

Ktec panel filter ordered now oem box back on.

Some more bits in the pipeline on order so on arrival will update, a lot more to come.

couple more pics of how it stands with the RS badge removed.

Fitted 3/4 number plate,
have pulled the French flag of the grill, now looking at suspension as fair amount of options for these little things but don't want it to be like scaffold poles?

Nice write up and nice little car. Looks like an exciting project and as you say, plenty of options for mods. A friend of mine has one with a Miltek cat back and he struggled getting it to fit right too, I guess the hanger/mount design is a weak point? He solved it by buying a power flex bush for an Astra exhaust, forcing it in to the original metal bracket as shown in your picture and drilling a hole to suit the desired hight for the exhaust.

I'm sure if you getting sitting lower with the NS2-R's on it will be a real nippy car on the bendy bits.

I keep meaning to get a Clio 172/182, first time i went to get one i ended up with my first Scoob, my bug wagon, then a few weeks ago i again went to get a clio and ended up with my RB5.

A few mates race/track day clio's and one of them bought one back on Saturday and asked if i wanted it, a light blue 182 cup, needed gearbox, which my mate so happens to have.

maybe if i get my car collection down i'll speak to him again, as i feel a clio is now long overdue.

enjoy yours looks nice.

Thanks guys,
its a fairly nippy car for what it is in the bends, straight line not wow lol.
ATM its just refresh all the stock bushes and tie rods etc etc, and decided on shock combo or coilovers ????
The out side will remain stock over than a cup spoiler and height change.
inside im not sure either full on light weight or keep the comfort? as going down the ring is along journey in a bean can lol

Got the tow /track look but let's be honest it's more likely to be used for when it breaks then dragged out of the gravel ha ,
Picked up some new in painted wing mirror covers abs elf stickers for the Clio cup look ,
Ordered now eibach pro kit , Clio cup shocks and top mounts , engine and box mounts ,
Eibach camber bolts , aiming for -1.5 degree or -1.75 camber and -.1 toe
Any one had any experience with fwd and settings on suspension??????

Here's mine and what it will look like in the months/weeks to come
