Default Kinghams in Croydon

Anyone get their car serviced there? Looking to see if they are OK and what the labour rate is. My 3004 WRX needs a 100k service - I was going to do this myself but I'm too busy with my new daughter...

Happy to hear other recommendations - have seen Heathrow performance mentioned before but not going to drive out the other side of Guildford from Streatham...

I'm guessing with 40 views and no replies, nobody uses them... which is sort of an answer in itself...

I have used Dan at http://www.surreysubaruspecialists.com/ for the last few years.

Really nice guy, definitely knows his way around an Impreza. Provides a nice detailed write up at the end of the service and lets you know if there is anything that you might want to take a look at in the future based on inspection.

I don't use Facebook but I know he posts pictures up of what he is working on if you wanted to check him out.

I'm sure he is but that's too far away for me, would take nearly two hours from where I am.

I have heard of a few others but never used myself:

Slowboy Racing
Enginetuner
Scooby Clinic
R @ FBTuning

No experience but see these pop up from time to time...

We used kinghams years ago and I’d never go back there again or recommend them to anyone.
I then started using Dan @ Surrey Subaru Specialists and would totally recommend him to anyone. If ever I do get another Subaru in the future that’s where I’d take it

It won't take you two hours and you'll know your car is being well looked after.

Dan's looked after mine and my wife's cars for years and has always done a great job.

I drive to Plymouth to get Engine Tuner to work on my cars, it’s worth travelling for the best

Btw I wouldn’t go anywhere near Kinghams

I've travelled from my home in France to have my Subaru looked after by Brent at SMD,Newhaven and was worth the journey.

Surrey subaru have always come highly recommended.

Just make sure they know the workings of a 3004 WRX. I’m guessing it’s electric

Definitely getting the message to avoid Kinghams! Good spot on the typo by someone... going to give Slowboy a try as that's a lot easier for me to get to. FWIW I'm not aware that the car's been tuned to big numbers but is relatively standard...

To be fair there's plenty of room under the bonnet for when petrol is banned. Much rather an electric Impreza than a Prius - mostly so I can drive through town without drunks trying to get in the back!

You could be on to something there!! Although, there’s the sound. It would never be the same.

Think someone beat you to it with an electric Subaru

I am a bit late to this thread, but thought I'd add my thoughts as I researched Kinghams a few years ago and asked about them again recently.

I used to live in the Croydon area and made some enquiries with Kinghams after the local dealers I were using (Cheam and Gatwick) closed/stopped dealing with Subaru. At that time Kinghams hadn't long been dealing with Subaru and were quoting a lot more than other dealerships for basic servicing so I decided to opt for Surrey Subaru Specialists (who I see others have already mentioned) instead. Shortly after one of the local Surrey members used Kinghams and was far from impressed.

I am yet to get the recall airbag replacement carried out on my car and was recently contacted by Kinghams, so I thought I'd see what the feedback was like now they have been a main dealer for a few years. Of the responses I received just one was positive, so I have elected to get the airbag done elsewhere.

Surrey Subaru Specialists isn't the most local Subaru specialist to me, but I have always been pleased with the service there and wouldn't take my car anywhere else for regular servicing. I did use Slowboy once (and was pleased with the service), but he is a bit remote for regular use!

Dan at Surrey Subaru Specialists for me, I wouldn’t go anywhere else now.
